I'll vote for him because I am a regular voter and I will never vote for a Republican.  But I'll tell you what will happen if Biden is the nominee--huge swaths of core Democratic constituencies won't show up at all.  It will be the same song and dance as with Hillary and Kerry, and Trump will win again.  He's been completely normalized for the core Republican constituencies, and they will be enough to win him a second term.  Republican candidates have a built in advantage through the electoral college, and the only way Democrats can win the presidency is by motivating high turnout.  Committed, principled partisans, left + right, are probably less than 40% of eligible voters.  The rest swing in and out, and they need a strong hand to lead them to the polls.  Biden is not that kind of leader.  He's an empty suit.

This is the other thing. All the attributes people believe Biden have is not founded anywhere. There is no evidence of this.

Trump would pummel Biden just in the “he wrote he crime bill while I passed a bill on criminal justice reform.”

And you can do much more.

Curiosity.

Seemed a lot of posters here wouldn't like him as the nominee.  I was wondering just how much.

You hate Trump, right?

If Bernie or Warren are the nominees, are you voting for them?

You can do that for everyone.  Sanders:  Socialist; Warren:  Pocahontas and looks like Hillary; Mayor Pete:  Gay;  Kamala:  Nasty.  Nobody is perfect and therefore Trump has ammo.

I'm actually curious about your statement that  "All the attributes people believe Biden have is not founded anywhere."  What do you mean by this?

What he's got is brand name recognition.  That's why he's polling so well right now.

For all the “business as usual” folks, I’d like to point out that 2016 was the first time in a long time that the far-left fringe was given a seat at the table...and they peed in the punch bowl.  Still peeing in it, as a matter of fact.

And they spray all over everything in 2020 if they are pandered to.

There is no evidence dude cares about working class whites which is what his front runner status is based. No evidence that they would turn out to support him either.  If that were the case, he gets more than .9% in the 2008 Iowa caucus. And the Obama campaign considered dumping Biden for the 2012 presidential election, so I’m not sure how much they really needed him.

Guess I should have put crimes in quotes (Fixed that).

The first way was probably more accurate when it comes to this Administration. I don't think anyone should be shielded just so we can "heal." Let justice work as intended. Someone like Manafort who should have been caught sooner would probably still be free if Hilary were President cause of optics.

I think you're mistaken about the motives of people who vote Democratic. No one is voting to personally stick it to the GOP. No one is hoping the Dems take power and hurt the right people. Like we not out here trying to make bakers exclusively bake cakes for gay weddings.

I honestly can't say right now.  I want to know more about them, especially Warren.  I haven't looked too close because there is so much time still.  But if I were forced to pick a yes or no option, I'd probably say no.  I'd go 3rd party or write in again.

This man is plum insane. That ABC interview floored me.  Our elections are open for business with consent by the sitting President.

in a sane world that man would be in a medical facility receiving treatment for his deteriorating brain. But because the GOP, and good part of Murica, gets off on racism and tax cuts, he's the ****ing president of the united states

this **** is over, we ain't coming back from this

Hopefully, the next president and congress will put measures in place to make sure this never happens again. This only proves to me that the Constitution is just a flimsy piece of paper with no teeth.

The Mayor of South Bend Indiana has a better grasp of foreign policy than our two-years-into-his-term POTUS.

(And the Mayor will likely learn more about it, in the next two years.)

Yeah, I've got to admit that a good part of me believes that if we don;t completely exterminate the infection that the GOP machine has become, then we'll just be facing an even more drug-resistant strain in 5-10 years.  That they've literally become a Party of Satanic-level evil, and that a biblical-level retribution is going to have to be used, to teach this lesson.

(As support of this feeling of mine, I will point out that we've now had three iterations of trickle-down economics.  After every one of them, the results have been an explosion of the deficit, and a negative amount of trickle down.  And the GOP reaction to each of these failures has been to retreat a few years, change the packaging they wrap the thing in, and do it again, only more.  Not one of them will even admit that the first three attempts didn;t work.)

Or is you want a more recent example?  The reaction of the GOP, when it's revealed that their candidate was literally endorsed and supported by Russia?  Was to decide that hey, Russia's not so evil after all, they must really be Good Guys.

So, yeah, after, for example, the entire GOP congress unanimously conspiring to cover up Trump's continuing crimes?  A part of me is like:

(NSFW Language)

But I also have to admit.  I sometimes have feelings along these lines.  (For example, I have often observed that, when I hear that supposedly, units of the Mexican Army have been observed escorting illegals across the US border, that my opinion of the proper US response to this involves an AC-130.)  But I also recognize that I really shouldn't indulge those fantasies.

More about Biden and his views on females expressed on various years campaign trails.  He's seriously out of touch.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/06/joe-biden-iowa-2020-campaign-teenage-girl-fence-warning.html

The man is a gaffe machine. That may be underselling it. He's a gaffe supercomputer. People think he's "electable" but there's a reason he's done worse than he was expected to in his two previous runs.

He's bene in the race for about a month and he's made all the people mad at him over the Thomas-Hill affair even madder, he's joked multiple times about being accused of sexually harassing women, pulled the campaign's biggest flip-flop, been caught plagiarizing (again(), made himself a joke with the "Republicans really wanted to work with us before Trump" line, and now condescended to an entire gender while sexualizing a 13 year old girl. And that's just off the top of my head. I think there have been more.

That's Uncle Joe.

So what happens if Biden wins the nomination and picks.................................

Obama as VP?

Yes and no and maybe. The 12th and 22nd amendment would come into play here. However, the language of the 22nd says elected, so it's conceivable that the legal interpretation would be that Obama could assume Biden's office a*of being POTUS until the end of that term.

Let's be honest, the only reason Biden comes off as a remotely viable candidate is due to..............Trump.  If just about anyone besides Trump was in the white house, I don't even think Biden runs in the first place.

He comes off as viable because he was VP. Any VP, save Dan Quayle, becomes an immediate serious contender.
