I’m not entirely sure I agree.  Trump got approximately 35% of primary votes in most states, and Kasich, Rubio, the dip**** from Texas and a few others split the remaining 65% 4 or 5 ways, govignTrump the win.  In a winner take all situation, he got the nomination.

If there was ONE suitable, respectable Republican who primaried Trump, a sitting president is still favored to win, however I think it would be MUCH tighter than expected.  I think “establishment” republicans might come out of the woodwork to beat him in a primary.

Its all unknown, though.  We’ve never seen anything like Trump. His voters are extremely loyal and vocal.

The primary electorate favors Trump. The most passionate primary voters in the GOP will be Trump supporters. I don't see their being that many establishment voters to knock out Trump.  As bad as he is, he's giving the GOP their fantasies..  Trump is still hugely popular in the GOP.

Still you never know.

Tom Brady

The video of him pretending to meet himself after he wins another Superbowl and "visits" the White House with the team will be insufferable.

I would, however, love to see a Belichick/Saban ticket just for the press conferences.

Just saw Kasich at the correspondents dinner.  I really hope he runs in 2020.  Doubtful he would win but I really like the guy.  Seems like he realizes governing isn't meant to be a "our way or the highway" but understands everything is better when people work together.  Now I haven't researched him in depth so maybe he just talks a good talk.  But so far, I wish me had more like him.

He got spanked early on, when trying to pass something early in his tenure.  The voters rejected it.

Trump will have some primary challengers but he will crush them all.  The big question, will Kasich or someone like him; run as a third party/independent candidate in the fall of 2020.  If that happens, does that give the election to the Dems or makes Trump's victory make likely?

What type of candidate will be able to beat Trump in 2020?

I'm not so sure a woman or a minority candidate could beat Trump in 2020.  Sad to say that but if he's running against a woman again; you see an even more sexist campaign and if it's minority, a more racist campaign.

Run a pro-life Democrat and the amount of WIN would be biggest margin in history. You won't believe how much win you will have.

I’ll run as a pro life democrat. No problem.

I don't have an issue with someone who's personally pro-life as long as they don't legislate their personal beliefs to the detriment of women's bodily autonomy.

Done & done. When do I get sworn in?

I am not counting on any kind of serious primary challenge to Trump. I'd love to be wrong, but when you break down the GOP voting base, between the "All in for Trump" and "I am not really a fan, but better than the "socialist/communist/maoist/unAmerican Democrat running" groups, I am not sure there is enough GOP voters left to mount a serious challenge.
