My friend Bo put it best so I will simply post his video. The short version is that only paying will make him a hero among his followers. The only way this should be brought up is in reference to rich people pay less than everyone else so raising their taxes - well removing the loop holes - only gets them to pay their fair share. What he needs to be held accountable for is how in the world do you lose money during an economic recovery? Especially at casinos????

The best part is that the Average Joe doesn't understand any of this...besides that Trump is a fraud that doesn't pay taxes, but the Average Joe pays taxes...

This is very true. There are plenty of legal ways Trump could have paid 0 dollars in income taxes most years. There are plenty of loopholes in the tax code... Just ask Apple.

Unless you want a wealth tax, it's even easy if you're as apparently bad at business as Trump... Just lose a fortune to offset any capital gains, and that's not even considering things like depreciation.

Heck, when Romney eventually released his taxes and got excoriated for the low percentage HE paid, my understanding is that he actually had paid more than he legally had to, just so it wouldn't look worse.

In a lot of ways, the problem is the tax code, not Trump.

That being noted, KNOWING that requires a level of knowledge most low information voters aren't going to have, and those are the people this story is most probably going to affect, since I'd imagine anyone sophisticated enough to understand all this had enough information already to decide who to vote for a long time ago.

He makes some good points, but I'll say this:  the idea that this information shows that he is a bad businessman and will mortgage America to save himself isn't new.  For those of us that have been paying attention, we already knew he was a bad businessman because of his 6 (or more) bankruptcies, and that he would run America the same way, failing and bankrupting it.  He has, the debt is skyrocketing.   This is no surprise.  I don't think there is anything that will deter his hardcore supporters.  They are delusional and not susceptible to reason.

I agree many know this. It's been common knowledge for years - decades if you want to be precise. But his supporters do not, including his fringe supporters. And yes they will probably just ignore it. But if it just reaches a few people. I think the bigger point is that if they continue on the not paying taxes will do nothing but raise his stature among those supports. But if they look and see for themselves he is actually a failure - a few, maybe just a few will abandon him. Again, it's not really his base that's the target. It's the fringe supporters.

If these things are obvious, why has the IRS been auditing him for years and years with no progress?  Did they stop when he became PotUS?

Good question.

The IRS is wrestling with ordering the President of the United States to repay a tax return of $79 million, plus interest because it was improper to receive it.

The hair thing is a sideline.

The $750,000 “consulting fee” to Ivanka while she was also an employee is a big one too, though.  To characterize employee compensation as outside consulting, allowing him to write it off as a business expense, is likely illegal.  It also smells like illegally gifting cash to a family member.
