Something is out there now. Whether it's actually Trump's tax return is tougher to determine.

Well, until Trump produces his tax return I’m just going to assume that the reporters at the times did their due diligence and Trump actually paid only $750 in income tax.

He’s had 3 years to produce those things. There’s a reason that he’s not. The fact that most years he pays nothing and every once in a while it’s $750 is a good reason. The fact that his taxes will show lots and lots and lots of dodgy practices and borderline money laundering is another.

Wasting a lot of energy on this tax stuff.  Wake me up when tax laws were broken... the pope saying Trump is a sinner isn’t gonna sway an evangelicalist worrying about what Stacy is doing the next state over....

It will sway some voters...but it is a series of chips in the wall....#Berlin

I think it's this attitude that allows someone like Trump to do all the **** he does. I mean, the stuff about his tax returns came out, what, a few hours ago?...and we've already spent too much energy on it.

Whether or not it makes people vote differently is really not the point. Not to mention, there have been some reports that after going through his tax returns Trump may have indeed broken some tax laws. But you only find that out by not caring how much energy and time you spend on it.

Even if there were no tax laws broken (there probably were, these constant loses are probably all overstated)...

Trump is either a tax cheat (he is) or a terrible business owner (he is)...

Either of the above should preclude him from being president.

Lastly, this ****wad paid less in taxes in the last 15 years than you’ve paid in one what the ****s a matter with you!

certainly it does.

1) Trump doesn’t release tax return, makes a big deal about it.

2) Liberals fall into this trap and demand he release them.

3) Enough People don’t care about his tax returns.

4) liberals waste energy and stuff not enough people care about.

How do you debate a guy who basically lies every sentence?  Biden will stick to the truth, the other guy won't.

It will be difficult.

You mock him for lying, and failing, relentlessly.  You hurt his feelings with facts followed by harsh judgements.  Biden needs to make Trump lose his cool, and then mock him for that as well.

"Possessed them legally" does not mean it's not illegal to release them.

The seminal case on this is Bartnicki v. Vopper, 532 U.S. 514, 535 (2001), which stands for the proposition that even if the information was illegally obtained by a third party in the first instance, those who have lawfully received the information from that source have a right, under the First Amendment, to publish information gleaned from those documents that relate to matters of public concern.  “We think it clear that parallel reasoning requires the conclusion that a stranger’s illegal conduct does not suffice to remove the First Amendment shield from speech about a matter of public concern.” Id.

In Bartnicki, a third party illegally taped phone conversations between two individuals who were discussing contentious union matters, and then passed those tapes along to the defendant radio broadcaster, who played the tapes on-air and was subsequently sued for violations of the state’s wiretap laws.  Id. at 518-19.

The Supreme Court determined that the radio broadcaster was not in violation of state law since he, himself, had lawfully obtained the information from the third party (and despite the fact the third party had unlawfully obtained the information).  Id.at 528-30.

pick like 1-2 reasons and really hammer him on those. All the things, however accurate, just feels like think tank brainstorming. And it doesn’t need to. Hit him on all the racist stuff he has done and his mismanagement of Covid. Focus all the energy on that. Should be more than enough. The tax stuff is so jv.

This. Make Trump look like a looney. Pull no punches with this guy. Don’t let him the luxury of controlling the fake narrative.

So not enough people care about his taxes? (Funny how Hilary said in their 1st debate he paid nothing in taxes and conservatives cried Liar, liar pants on fire!)

BUT, those same people who don't care about his taxes ALL cared about a fake "birther movement" which actually produced a genuine birth certificate.

It's funny what people actually care about.
