Parler is basically what happens when you take the Breitbart comments sections and put them in Tweet format.

Parler is just a modern version of what typically happens when conspiracy theorists and cultists find that the outside world unwilling to accept their nonsensical bull****.  They create their own newsletters, build compounds, and otherwise work to erect barriers and create a safe place for themselves.

Parler is their safe place and I’ve read that Parler even allows them to select which replies to their posts get published and which do not.  A perfect home for people that want to create their own fictitious little crazy town.

The most amusing part of the whole thing is that on Twitter (in response to that Tweet posted here, for instance) the right wingers keep talking about how Parler is for people who "think for themselves"...even though it's essentially a "safe space" for them where nobody will ever challenge their views in any meaningful way.

that was tame compared to this Parler post I saw earlier. How do we “reach” these people

This is why we have mass shootings. This is why that 70 million will still side with dude in office. Also Parler won't stop it either, because they are the "free speech" app and you can speak your mind. Once Joe takes the office and things get back to some what normal, I expect that side to act stupid. Anything to own the libs. Hope the FBI is monitoring that app.

Not surprised by this email. Trying to invalidate the Black vote or marginalize it. This has Stephen Miller written all over it. But 18% Black men and I think 7% Black Women voted for this racist buffoon.

Parler is certainly a dream for Russia's misinformation campaign.

Yeah, well, maybe you guys are right.  I dunno.  I'm just hoping that he fades away and that media outlets don't give him the air time.  Guess we'll find out.

Not against you Spiff, but I'm wondering.

You all think that he'll be out by 1/20/21. Because Constitution states it. That's fine with everyone.

But we're talking Donald Trump here. A Megalomaniac, that purey has no intention to leave in any way. Remember that not so long ago he had his followers chanting 8 more years, and even 12....

I'm pretty sure the guy wouldn't mind about sitting on the Constitution and stay in the WH if he wants it to be.

Him leaving in a peaceful way doesn't compute really well with what I've seen from Donald Trump. If he doesn't get it from Justice, he'll try to get it in whatever way is possible to him. Guy is shameless.

So yeah I really find you all quite optimistic about the outcome of this.

Oh good, I got your attention. I never said it was just Trump.

Uh, if you're going to try to defend yourself from me attacking you, it might help if you actually find somewhere where I say something that is at least kinda referencing you in some way.

Especially when your point is "I never said (so and so)"

Just a thought.

Oh good, I got your attention. I never said it was just Trump. The thing is, we are on the same side. Your snide remark is unappreciated.  I just don't think you can damn a whole section of people and still lead this country effectively. That's my 2 cents and I'll leave it here. You won.

I will play along. How long do you screw everyone else trying to placate those who don't want to be governed? I am all for extending an olive branch. But to date every olive branch extended has been met with what amounts to a flame thrower of a **** you. At some point you have to take care of the people you can. If the others decide to play along fine, if not, then **** them.

My approach would not damn them, but to mostly ignore their rants and try to understand if there is policy ground we can agree on. Then make the changes you need to and it should provide them with a better life. They will either recognize that or not. But at some point it's wasted energy on people who are NEVER going to come around.

I agree with you guys. Maybe, I am just not making my point clearly. Biden should not be divisive. The whole speak softly but carry a big stick applies here. Maybe, I've used way to many words to get that across.

But I'm out, you guys are good. I really don't feel like arguing about it. It's not in my list of things to do.

@larry - just look a couple posts up. Your last post on this page before I responded. After what we were discussing earlier, was that not a jab at me? Cause that's the way I took it. If I took it wrong, my apologies.

I don't think Biden plans to be divisive, just as Obama was not divisive, but at some point the GOP has to drop their "omg socialism.....communism...." schtick and come to the table to get work done.   What has been the major GOP legislation proposed since Obama was President?  More tax cuts for the wealthy....de-regulate everything in sight to increase the profits of their donors.  What else?    Look I am realistic, if the Dems lose the GA runoffs and don't take the Senate, the next 4 years is likely not going to produce a ton of stuff outside of what Biden can do via executive orders.  Hell, his first year is likely going to be mostly cleaning up the messes left behind and cleaning house of the cronies in cabinet positions.   This is the rich irony in all of this, half this country has bought into the "Joe Biden" Trump created out of his imagination for campaign season and ignoring the actual Joe Biden.
