Presidential Election: 11/3/20 ---Now the President Elect Joe Biden Thread

Cook Political Report has Biden hitting 290 with just Solid, Likely, and Lean Dem states.  In fact, he could lose PA and still hit 270 by picking up AZ, MI, and WI.  States like FL, GA, IA, and NC are luxury for Biden, not necessity.

Charlie Cook, as astute political observer as there is in the entire country, as declared the race basically over.

https://cookpolitical.com/index.php/analysis/national/national-politics/was-trump-ever-really-favorite-reelection

Quote

Trump was already on thin ice heading into the coronavirus pandemic. After three months of belittling the severity and lethality of the outbreak and touting dubious remedies, the ice under his feet got still thinner. With his debate performance, it gave way and down he went.

Swing voters in particular have been gradually turning down the volume on the president. After the debate, they finally hit mute and stopped listening entirely.

All eyes now turn to the Senate, to see if Republicans can save their majority.

In addition to Cook Political Report having Biden at 290 without any toss ups, the other major prognosticators have the following EC votes at least leaning towards Biden (not including any toss ups):

Sabato Crystal Ball:  290

Inside Elections:  319

Politico:  279

Economist:  319

538:  334

Predictit (a betting market with no tossups):  335

The only thing that can shake up the race at this point is if Biden tests positive for COVID. And I’m not sure whether that would be enough to flip more than 1-2% of voters, even if he was hospitalized going into the election.

So my wife and I are church going people and we have started to see Christian Get Out the Vote efforts... ie. Tony Perkins FRC hosting a "Freedom Sunday" last week.  I can't stand that Christians overwhelmingly support Trump.  I watched a bit to get a feel of how these people pitch the election.

A lot of guilt and shaming over the abortion issue in America, and making the audience feel like "America will lose God's favor" because of Roe v. Wade.  A Romanian Pastor comparing the left to Soviet Stalin talking about how these Antifa organizations will purge their members. An African American Pastor saying that BLM is illegitemate because previous civil rights efforts were led by Christians like Rev. MLK... so BLM can't point to MLK because he was Christian.  A lot of guilt about support or tolerate LGBTQ because it is against God's way (it's a lie that God creates people this way apparantly).

However, this year the highlight was the fact that churches were considered non-essential and shut down while Home Depot, casinos and everywhere else was essential and people were packing Walmart. They pointed out the Supreme Court didn't even take up the case (so it is too far left) and there is a lot of COVID denial in this argument.  Even had a Dr. come up and argue that lockdowns killed people because they were afraid of going to hospitals for heart attacks, strokes, and other srrious medical issues.  "We were told millions were going to be sick and die if we didn't lockdown and that didn't happen."  "If America was as afraid of their sin as COVID the country would convert to Christianity."  Aside from the Trump video where he pandered on lockdown (which got applause) from the maskless audience gathered probably illegally lots of "get out and vote" messaging but little "vote for Trump" specifically.

There is another event this weekend we can take a bus with other church members for a few hours to see Charlie Kirk speak (I have seen him speak a couple of times at our church).  Frankly one time I saw him speak he was rational and was very passionate on abortion even talking about the fact that we should have laws supporting adoption.  Probably because he is not allowed to be political while speaking there.

My fellow Christians are 20% of the people who solidly support Trump.  The other 20% are the rich or aspiring rich who want lower taxes and lose money from Democrats.

Trump is a big reason that religion is rapidly losing market share.

Love the irony of Christianity getting bad ratings because of its ties to Trump.

One con being conned by another. How the religions can support this man who is the most unChristian person who fakes religious beliefs is beyond me.

Also, it just doesn’t work for some people.

Speaking of the "pro-family" or "family values" stuff...everyone knows it means "anti-gay".

I remember in 2004 when Bush was running for re-election. I was at work with a guy who I knew was conservative but was a bit on the fence; very religious guy. He said he'd decided to vote for Bush. I asked what was the main thing that put him over and he said "family values". So I asked what exactly that meant. He couldn't explain it. I finally grew exasperated and said "Come on, Louis. You know it means anti-gay". He insisted it didn't, but still absolutely could not give me any actual definition of what "family values" even meant. So yeah, he was anti-gay.

It's amazing how republicans have claimed the family values mantle yet have at least as many if not more affairs. The real definition is not being true to your family and living by a certain set of moral standards - having family values politically now means simply that you hate gays and are against abortion. And then like with bunker boy look the other way when presented with clear anti-family value actions - like sleeping with prostitutes and cheating on his wives (plural!).

Still waiting to hear he got covid by sleeping with Hope Hicks or better yet vice versa!!!  LOL I heard she was mad she was being used as the scapegoat for WH covid.

These photos are from the Instagram page of Emma-Jo Morris, author of the shady NY Post laptop hit piece on Biden.  It shows her with...

She used to be a producer at Fox News for Sean Hannity...

Homosexuals are part of families 🙂  I’m almost certain they practice ‘family’ values.

The concept of ‘family’ needs to be defined.

I thought it was already demonstrated that the NY Post story is not true.  Whether foreign disinformation based on hacked or fabricated emails or politocal disinfo is yet to be seen.

Trump didn't even talk about Hunter at his town hall...

The Post won't allow computer forensics and the proof is just screenshots.  Hunter Biden lives in Los Angeles and the story on how the laptop made it to FBI or whomever makes no sense....

Watched some of the Biden highlights.

He was superb.

I am watching the entire thing right now.  I watched bunker boys last night. The contrast is stark. Trump was not as whiney as the debate but he was still much like a child. And the comments were hilarious - saying the moderator was being mean and trying to debate him. They should just ask questions etc...   Some were going back and forth and said biden was getting softballs with no push back from the moderators. Pure fiction. And they call dems snowflakes!! LOL  What a joke.

The difference is one was an adult that kept an adult tone while fielding questions from both the audience and the moderator. The other wanted to fight, call names, make false accusations and was generally whiney. Damn that ****er is annoying!!
