So, if being a old white guy disqualified you from being VP.... shouldn’t it disqualify you from being president?

I really hope bernie doesn’t get the nomination.

He is the delegate leader and that will be overwhelming clear on Super Tuesday.

Yes, at the convention they can deny Bernie the nod but that would split the party and it will lead to Dems losing everywhere.

But when Elizabeth Warren has adjusted or pivoted in any way she was called a lying snake. White male privilege is so hilarious.

About as hilarious as trying to yell racist claims without any support at all other than, . . a person's race.

(BTW, when I Google "Fredrick Johnson", to see whether he's a Warren staffer or Just Some Dude, Google brings up images of him.  This is the second image it showed me:

^^^ A critical skill for running a Presidential campaign is, for better or worse, messaging and message discipline. For Sanders not to see the problem with extolling ANY virtue of the Castro regime is troubling. You are going to be painted right alongside Che Guevera by the GOP as it is.  Don’t give them kindling to throw on the fire. And don’t double down and try to rationalize your answer. Nuance and explanation doesn’t work. Just pull the ripcord and get the **** out.

That’s advice for if he gets to the general election. For the Democratic primary, Bernie, keep sticking those Florsheims into your mouth until it cripples and sinks your campaign, from my perspective.

And ignoring the long known reality that any politician that changes position on anything at all, is always attacked.  Flip flopper!  For and against everything!  Governs according to the polls!  Political winds!

But no no no it’s because the Jewish guy has white skin and a penis.  That’s why one positive comments exists for a possible Sanders “pivot.”  Must be.  Couldn’t be anything else.

I got my concealed carry permit in just about 2 - 3 weeks. That’s a county thing, but still. When they want to have something work, it works.

Except the two most important details, i.e. how much will it cost and will he change reimbursement rates. As it stands, Medicare patients are money losers for healthcare providers. If you make every patient a money loser for them....well, you can see where I’m going with this. However, if you increase reimbursements, then the cost goes up.

Look, I’m a believer in single payer, I just think we need to offer a public option and let it take care of itself. It wouldn’t take very long for employers to start dropping their employee plans if everyone can sign up for MFA. But no, Bernie and my personal choice, Warren have got to have their revolution.🙄

But why wait for this? You are sentencing those who work now to stay in the same ****ed up system that can still bankrupt with one bad illness - at the very least wipe out a lifetime of savings. If companies will drop out so fast anyway, why not give them more reason right away?

i do not understand this public option thing for regular health care. For cosmetic surgery and other elective surgery, fine. But for the main health care, just make it single payer.

If I’m honest though, on the one hand, I’d like to see Bernie come in as a Dem version of Tя☭mp and just **** up shop. OTOH, it’ll be a disaster of epic proportions. He’d be a one and done and then the Grand Oligarch’s Party could point and say “See, we told you this stuff doesn’t work” and probably return to full control again. We’re schtupped now, but if that happens, whooo! I don’t even want to think about it. I’m almost of the mind that we’d be better letting Tя☭mp stay in power IF we can get the Senate back so he and the GOP can own the next recession.

There is some truth to that. Insurers intentionally make their plans highly opaque and complicated with tons of paperwork because it causes delays, decreased usage, and mistakes in claims that saves them money. Also, taking their profit out of the picture saves a lot of money and providers already know how to bill Medicare.

You are that sure of this? Then you must think your own candidate will have the same effect. There is very little difference in Warren's and Bernie's policies. And Warren has shown she cannot handle pressure. Every time she gets really pushed she says or does something that makes no sense.

I do not like candidate Warren but it's becasue I am certain she cannot beat trump. She will be branded Hillary 2.0 - fair or not. And she already proved she can't stay away from trumps trifling games when she fell for the Pocahantas thing.

Having said that, I am not sure how either presidency, warren or sanders can be anywhere near the unmitigated disaster of this presidency. Saying either one would disasters of epic proportions is a huge exaggeration, and in this case is jsut to prop up your candidate as better. At the very least the number of days i wake up totally embarrassed by the childish antics of our current toddler in chief should go down exponentially. That alone is worth it. At this point I prefer Sanders over Warren. But if she gets the nomination I will be supporting her.

I really wish this primary season were over so all the sniping at each can stop and the sniping at trump can begin. Let's see if the DNC has learned anything form 2016 - although all current appearances are that they have not. But I can hope.

Jazz, that makes me want to vote for him more, someone with balls in that conversation over there.  We probably did need a Jewish president to stand up to them, every other candidate "needed the Jewish vote", bro is like "I'm already Jewish, next question".

You can address medical bankruptcies without going all the way to a Sanders version of a single payer.  Heck, even an expanded version of cost sharing subsidies that is both income and asset tested would get that done.

It can be a public option or a more balanced single payer.  Sanders' single payer has never been close being implemented elsewhere in a developed economy.  If it doesn't work like we expected, then what?

Warren has shown in the past with the CFPB that she can be an ideologue on the outside, but pragmatist inside.  She's also discussed how she would handle compromises on legislative policies.  So far it's radio silence from Sanders on what he will do if proposals are DOA and he's offered compromise bills.

Hillary 2.0 vs socialist.  They are all got gonna get branded and labeled (Trump will make something up if necessary).  Like Sanders wont get tarred and feathered with Castro, Isreal, and all the stupid things he should've just stayed away from?

Sanders seemed offended that there could be any notion that his statements on Castro were questionable, rather than clarifying them further. While Obama may have made an analogous statement, I can't imagine him handling a question about it so poorly. I think Sanders gets eviscerated in the general if he's the nominee. Capitalism vs Communism is right in the Republicans wheelhouse. Simple message wrapped up in a flag, no thought required. (I know Sanders is not a Communist)

I agree.  Obama's statement came after his visit to Cuba and is talking about what he told Raul Castro. Which, within the context of his attempt to normalize relationship with Cuba in the waining days of his presidency, is a lot different than saying it as a candidate (unless you just plan on punting Florida).
