The Sewer That Is The GOP: With All The White Supremacists, Conspiracy Nutters, And Other Malicious Whacko Subgroups, How Does It Get Fixed?

I really hope Hannity has kneepads. I'm worried that after all this time he's going to end up with severe damage to those joints. Can't be too careful.

Jesus Christ, Hannity is an absolutely horrible puncher. He didn't seem to have a single ounce of hip movement or lower body torque or foot movement when he was throwing strikes in that clip. He was basically just standing there waving his arms towards the target.

Sen. Ron Johnson takes his turn for questioning at a Senate hearing looking into security lapses leading up to the January 6 Capitol insurrection to read a right wing blog suggesting that the riot was caused by "Fake Trump supporters" and "provocateurs" and that the mood was "fun" and "festive"at the Capitol grounds until police fired tear gas, causing the crowd to grow angry.

First of all...god that's dumb.

Second of all...gotta love a Trump supporter basically saying "well, what do you expect? of course a group of peaceful protesters got angry and out of hand when they were tear gassed. that's messed up! we shouldn't hold them accountable for that" without a hint of irony.

Ron Johnson is a clear and present danger to the security of this country, and he is actively aiding insurrectionists.

Why on earth do we keep allowing this?

Drag his ass out of there. Haul him out in cuffs and ****ing CHARGE him with it. It is ****ing TREASONOUS.

Is there NO LAW that applies to these people?

More cancelling

The "cancel culture" thing to them is basically like "blue lives matter": It only applies when it benefits them. As soon as the cops are stopping them from doing something they want to do (however illegal it is), the police immediately go from being saints to being pigs, fascists, and jackboot thugs. Same thing here. Scream about cancel culture when it's affecting your side, but then encourage it when it's against the other side. Rinse, repeat.

It's time for the GOP to cease to exist and rebrand to what they really are, Trumpians. Change the name of the party to their master; Trump. Have a oath that you can only be a Trumpian; by pledging full loyality to Trump. Have the new logo be a picture of Trump.

The Right-Wing invented cancel culture, lets ne real here.  They didn't give a single concern about banishing people based on "moral behavior" until all of a sudden the people in charge were not in their own circle of mind think and decided they want people "canceled" for different reasons.  They have also successfully pulled another ruse by expanding the definition of what it actually means to be "canceled" in the first place.

"Cancel culture" is "the free market at work".

These morons actually believe that the loud hipster liberal shouting complaints over his IPA creates change.
Change is made by the CEO class, the zillion dollar golden parachuters who will fire you and everyone who works with you just to add a new grotto to the rooftop swimming pool. (any bets on which way they usually vote?)
And the only reason they move on change isn't to do "the right thing" or out of any "social conscience". Those are marketing ploys.
It is because one of two questions was answered "YES".
1. Will not changing lose money?
2. Will changing make money?
Get a yes on either of those, and change has a chance.
It is especially obvious with one nearest to our hearts,, our beloved Washington Football fellas.
This name didn't change because of outcry, it changed because Dan Snyder has run off a full generation of fans, and has a ton of bad press about the pig-sty his offices are. And the only reason he 'caved' is because gigantic retailers like Wal Mart (who doesn't give a ****) and Amazon (who doesn't give a ****) are courting a demographic that they think is lucrative.

Right now republicans are apoplectic because of one simple fact that they cannot wrap their puny little twisted brains around.
They are bad for business.
The market is speaking.

And because the Market is doing the talking then EVERYTHING IT SAYS IS CORRECT. This is how it is supposed to WORK.

or at least that is what they used to think.

I was thinking this exact thing earlier. What Republicans are really pissed about, when it comes down to it, is that the market doesn't like them or their ideas. Tough cookie. If your ideas suck and the market rejects it...maybe you should start making some new ideas (products) that people actually want. Any free market capitalist should understand that concept and simply accept it as reality. If you don't like it, go start a fascist dictatorship somewhere else.

Seriously. Conservatives basically invented cancel culture, successfully being able to cast anyone who had mildly liberal views as being an extremist (e.g.: South Baptics boycostt of Disney for supporting gay rights since the 1990s or Bill O'Reilly leading a Pepsi boycott because they had a commercial w Ludacris) . They're only upset because those tactics can work against them now.

Voting with your wallet...what a novel idea!  So many companies have been crossed off my list of "where I spend" or "what I purchase".

Morning Joe Blasts Double Standards on Biden Noms: Republicans ‘Surrendered Their Right to be Outraged’ Under Trump

Morning Joe scoffed at Republicans who’ve taken issue with President Joe Biden’s cabinet nominees after years of ignoring criticisms and making excuses for former president Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, the show held a conversation on Neera Tanden’s uphill battle to become Office of Management and Budget Director now that Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Susan Collins (R-ME) will vote against her. As Willie Geist spoke to Claire McCaskill about the outrage over Tanden’s history of harsh Twitter comments, he wondered if the Biden administration should’ve seen this coming, even with “the hypocrisy from Republicans who now suddenly are stunned and outraged by people saying mean things” after they “stood by and watched” Trump do it for years.

As Brzezinski slammed the “appalling” hypocrisy, Scarborough asked. “Did we hear any concerns about Scott Atlas when he was going in there spreading lies? When Alex Azar was asleep at the switch and time and again sitting back quietly and following Donald Trump’s worst conspiracy theories at the most dangerous moments of this pandemic? Come on. What a joke.”

“Well, they’ve surrendered their right to be outraged,” Geist said. “They’ve surrendered, Republicans have, their right to outraged by nominations like these.”
