the quote is from the 2020 race for potus thread but after i typed it i figured it would be more fitting in the rump supporter thread or here, and this won

Quote

from mistertim's post:

He also called COVID-19 "kung flu". Jesus, this guy is just so goddamn horrid.

as is every malicious dotard who was at that event---and the previous ones---where they applaud the endless stream of lies,  malevolent ignorance, and aggressive stupidity because such is their choice and their comfort zone

it is a clear and yugely negative reflection of their level of "character" and "thinking"

they're not going to change, and i expect the majority of "good republicans"---elected officials and constituency---who state they "don't like" things about him" or regret this and that he tweets/says etc., yet were major players in getting things to this historically pathetic and disgusting point, won't change much either and will still  support the gop as nothing's ever happened when don loses

and you'll see them all try to get credit for "not liking don" and "speaking against him" (quietly and rarely while still going on about the dems as their focus of concerns)

only the openly vocal  anti-trump gopers who began when he got the nomination or at the very least once he won and showed "yup, this is indeed how i'll govern" in the first few weeks should be given much respect or positive accord

The Republican Choice:How a party spent decades making itself white.

>>>Election Day 1981 was ugly in some largely Black and Hispanic districts of Trenton, New Jersey. Ominous signs hung outside several polling places:

WARNING

THIS AREA IS BEING PATROLLED BY THE
NATIONAL BALLOT
SECURITY TASK FORCE.

IT IS A CRIME TO FALSIFY A BALLOT OR
TO VIOLATE ELECTION LAWS.

That National Ballot Security Task Force was made up of county deputy sheriffs and local police who patrolled the polling sites with guns in full view. A court complaint later lodged by the Democratic Party described the members of the task force “harassing poll workers, stopping and questioning prospective voters … and forcibly restraining poll workers from assisting, as permitted by state law, voters to cast their ballots.”

The National Ballot Security Task Force was not some rogue enterprise, or an ill-conceived product of a few extremist thinkers. It was funded by the Republican Party.<<<

In a similar vein to the above, I’ve often said that it’s mostly only good people that worry about being bad people. They  are the ones actually trying to hold themselves to a standard and worrying about how their actions measure up. Bad people don’t self reflect like that or they lie to themselves, project, or scapegoat others to protect themselves from the positive disintegration of self accountability.

You know, why are we still asking if the diseased party can be fixed?

It’s unfixable, it must be eradicated and every current GOP member needs to be defeated; at all levels.

If anyone can destroy them it’s Trump. If they turn on him he will take their voters with him. That’s what the Ticker Carlson thing from last night was about.

GOP falling apart. I hope it only gets worse for them.

Like someone said - cant remember who - but you cant really lie during a global pandemic. And if you are a populist leader who relies on mistrusts to retain power, that **** is going to come to light during this. Its obvious most Republicans or maybe just their leadership dont understand science. Because if they did, they would have known they wouldn't just get lucky here and all this would magically play in their favor. You can lie about crime statistics, you can lie about voter fraud, you can apparently lie about birth certificates and you can certainly lie about your intentions or others'. But you cant lie about people dying around you. Tying your wagon to the idea that this Pandemic was a hoax was just stupid. It was going to bite them in the ass eventually. And it has. And now, mixed with their disastrous policies and lies for decades, its ripping them apart.

It's not just this election.  Every election from now on, the GOP must be defeated and at all levels.  The Trump era and the pandemic has shown just how harmful the GOP is to the nation.  They are entrenched at state and local levels and they must be removed.  The rot isn't just at the national level.
