The President just fired the Attorney General in order to kill an investigation into himself, in which one of the charges being investigated was his firing the head of the FBI, to kill an investigation into himself.

The GOP unanimously defended the first one. The voters probably don't even remember that it happened, two years later.

Can't imagine why he might think he can make this go away.

That seems a odd assertion considering the GOP's support of the Mueller investigation.

They might  have supported his right to do so.....is that what you call defended?

That seems an odd assertion considering the entire House going along with Nunes' completely transparent coverup.

But youre right, occasionally one of them would timidly advise him not to do something that might harm the Republican Party.

Till after the election.

At which time, they are all unanimously cool with it.

The disaster isn't Trump.  He is just the fallout from it.  This is a disaster years in the making.

No. Trump is a national disaster. I think you are referring to a separate but related disaster. But make no mistake. Donald Trump has damaged the Presidency and the Nation he is supposed to serve. And the sad thing is reasonable people saw it coming from  miles away - the minute he rode down that escalator with all those paid onlookers standing by.

Trump is the break in the dam of crazy.  Up until now, the crazies were relegated to their basements to froth at the mouth listening to Rush & watching Hannity.  Trump took things the next step by legitimizing right-wing craziness because he basically endorses all of those media outlets and parrots them.  That is the main difference.  Bush was kind of a non-thinker, but I don't remember him taking cues directly from Fox & Friends (Not sure if that specific show existed back then, but you get the point).

Looks like that Russian call girl was right when she talked about Russians secretly meeting Trump campaign personnel during the yacht trip. The Russian opposition candidate had that video report of the yacht trip.

We don't hear about her anymore, she was looking for a deal to spill to come over here.

Ugh, don't make Mueller put it on the record that he's illegitimate!

We want this at a stalemate where Whitaker is scared of acting in case Mueller challenges and wins for as long as possible.

Forcing this to proceed too quickly could be very detrimental.

This will be so great if it’s true. Jerome Corsi, for those who don’t know him, was one of the leading voices of the birther movement.

Previously it’s been reported that Corsi entered the Trump orbit during the birther nonsense. Would be hilarious if he ends up in jail because of his involvement in connecting Wikileaks to the Trump campaign.

I'll give credit to Whitaker for this... he knew that the way to get on Trump's radar was to be on television:

St. John’s University law professor John Q. Barrett said he met Whitaker several times in the “green room” at CNN when both were appearing to discuss Mueller’s investigation.

He said Whitaker told him he was shuttling back and forth to New York to raise his profile in the hopes the White House would notice him.

He was angling for a judgeship, and he knew that potential hirees don't exist for Trump unless 1. they're on "the shows" or 2,. they would look good on TV.  That's prime hiring criteria for this man-child President.

The Wall Street Journal found that Mr. Trump was involved in or briefed on nearly every step of the agreements. He directed deals in phone calls and meetings with his self-described fixer, Michael Cohen, and others. The U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan has gathered evidence of Mr. Trump’s participation in the transactions.
