DogofWar1
It looks like the WH is pushing that he resigned, while Rod has denied it and is expecting to be fired. Â The goal, obviously, is going to be to shove in who they want. Â

Larry
He's resigning.   In fact, right now, he's on his way to the WH, so that he can be informed that he's resigning.   3

Larry
I also seem to remember somebody posting a meme, a while back. Along the liens that since 9/11, America has had four AGs or acting AGs. And that Trump, in one year plus, has fired three of them.
mistertim
When I first heard about this my first thought was "PLEASE don't resign. Make them fire you". The difference in this situation is monumental.

Corcaigh
I wonder what they would have to offer him for him to resign? Â He's been expecting to be fired for more than 6 months. Â
mistertim
Wondering if they were trying to force him to resign and he basically said "STFU NOOBS" and told them they'd have to fire him and they backed down. Remember that Trump himself isn't there, so it would likely be Kelly dealing with the situation and Kelly has a far more strategic mind than Trump (which isn't saying much since most bacteria are more strategic thinkers than Trump). Kelly would know what a ****storm firing Rosenstein would be and what a Pandora's box it would open as far as replacing him. If he resigned they could spin it easily and get backing from the GOP...firing would be more difficult to spin.

Corcaigh
Both Rosenstein and Sessions probably expect to get fired after the mid terms to reduce the risk of impacting the turnout. Â Can Trump wait another six weeks? Â Â

Momma There Goes That Man
So we wait until Thursday for Trump to demand Rosenstein bend the knee.  This is is a disaster for midterms if they fire him but I wonder if Trump has the patience or even general intelligence to wait that far

So Trump will meet with him, talk about how tough he is and how he's so good at getting to the bottom of things. Then the next shoe drops on the character assassination that started last week.  And then Trump has him fired while he's on the golf course next weekend.
