jbooma
He could last into the second round maybe? He put on quite a show today and I like his recieving ability as well
TC4
Yeah, I heard them say that he had set a team record I think for pass receiving by a RB for Michigan
NavyDave
Yeah right I seriously doubt that he'll last that long. What some team is gonna draft a banged up gore in front of him?
AJWatson3
he'll be there in the second. unless he runs a 4.3 in his private workout. there are two, maybe three first round RB's: Kevin Jones (VT), Steven Jackson (ORSt), and maybe Greg Jones (FLSt) this fella did a good job for an early "mock". of course it being early you never know who'll get injured or declare, but he has a grasp on things. after the first two rounds i think you never know what'll happen. pretty good idea of who is round one or two material by now. http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41398
NavyDave
even if he makes it into the second round he will be in the high portion of the round where the last thing we better draft is another skill position ie running back. This had better be a big uglie draft

Steven Jackson is top 5 material, definately top 10. He's by far the best pro prospect at RB in the country. P.S. Our Yellow Jackets sucked today. Im not even sure where everything went wrong, but im pissed. Idaho, here we come. Still got the huge game a week from today when the Dawgs have to come to our place. That should be great. We've played well at home and been pumped for big games every time this year.
abb.
I gotta agree with atlhawksfan on this one. Greg Jones is not going to have a great pro career at all. After injuring his knee last year, he's been afraid of running it up the gut, I know this because I live in Tallahassee and I watch every FSU game. He has been constantly trying to take it outside, which isn't his style, he's more of a power runner. Until he gets over the fear of injuring his knee again he will only have a mediocre pro career. Ignatius J.
Chris Perry would make an excellent second round selection. During the game someone was talking about how good of a pss blocker he was. -DB
The Sir
Greg Jones is lucky if he's the next Zack Crockett
OrangeSkin
An ideal 1st two rounds would consist of Tommie Harris in the 1st and Chris Perry in the 2nd. Both big names, at the very least.
jbooma
I say Jones and Perry are ahead of Jackson. I also like Williams for Auburn, he was amazing tonight. The Rivarly week is a good week to check out players because they are so pumped for these games. Jackson - 18-68 Perry - 150 yds 50 recieving 2 tds Williams - 205 yards 2 tds Jones - 165 yds 57 receiving 3 tds
Prosperity
What about Maurice Clarret is he old enough to be drafted now?
SkinsNorth
Perry is likely the 3rd or 4th RB taken behind Jones (overrated), Jackson & Cadillac if he comes out.

The Sir
I say no back in college football is a head of Jackson, and I'm sure the scouts agree. 100% sure, I guess you'll just have to wait and see. I went through this before, and im not about to do it again. But I guarantee you, assuming Jackson leaves early(which he will), he's not only the first back taken but he's a top 10 pick(probably top 5)

And he is clearly the best receiving back of the bunch. Perry is the only one that comes close, Jones is a poor receiver out of backfield. Jackson is by far the best back in college football. Great Hands, Great Speed, Great Power, Great Size.
SkinsNorth
I like Jackson, reminds me of Deuce McAllsiter, the only thing that works against him is he may be downgraded some as the quality of the defences that he plays in the PAC-10 is not a the same level of defenses in the the other top conferences. He may be upgraded due to the quality of his offense line in contrast to VAtech, Michigan, and Auburn. 3 of the best run blocking offensive lines in football. Jackson reminds me of Edge pre-injury. Except he's bigger and has more power. Jackson is going to take the league by storm the same way Edge did his rookie year. And he'll be drafted about as high. 1700 combined yards(rushing+receiving). If he starts 16 games, he'll definately acheive that.

Hitman56
Perry is not that good. Its all the Michigan offensive line. Can you name a Michigan running back that has been good in the pros for more than 1 or 2 years? Thomas? Wheatley? Biakabutuka?

I watch a good bit of this game yesterday, and Perry is a nasty, nasty running back. The runs that he ripped off were a direct result of his vision; he is quick, and can create space where there seems to be none. He has the potential to be a very well-rounded RB- one that will be a shoe-in for the NFL; he will be a Clinton Portis type. He is strong, quick, and he is a great blocker. Beyond that, he has great stamina/toughness. In the second half of yersterday's game, he ran between the tackles for about 9 yds, and was met literally head-on by a SS, and a had a helmet-to-helmet collision. (Just stop and think about that for a second. Think about experience a blow to the head from someone that stops you dead in your tracks.) As they both got up woozy, I was thinking about how this would slow him down. The very next play, he broke a rediculous run to the outside for a 20+ yd TD. That's toughness. That's a well-rounded RB, and he will have a great NFL career. Oh...and he'll go early in the draft.

He's got slight shiftiness and pretty good hands. His vision, size, and stamina are good though. He is definately gets a lot of help from that great run blocking michigan Oline, but he's also a good back. I think he'll be 2nd round most likely, and I think he'll be a pretty good pro if put in the right system.
