The crazy thing is that many places used Solar Winds for network monitoring. Meaning it had elevated permissions across your entire network. The first rule of hacking is to make another door incase you cant use the one you came in from. We are super ****ed. Like we wont have any more secrets at all ****ed. SolarWinds having a super basic default password is dumb, but trust me there are plenty of other vendors who do the same thing. That absolutely has to change, but if I were doing a forensic audit of that breach I'd also be asking who the hell is in charge of their network and security. An air gapped network basically means the only threats you have are from the inside. This makes everything significantly more difficult but its ****ing worth it if I know all 3 of the jerks who have access to the room. I dunno man.
