If policy and economics drove people's voting behavior, the GOP would be routinely laughed out of the polls year after year. We are a country driven by cultural and social issues. Obama (and liberals by extension) promote a social view of America that doesn't sit well with religious bigots, racists and rural people without much exposure to the outside world. Almost everything in American politics can be best understood through a social issues lens. Trump is pro-America if one thinks that America exists primarily to serve a white, Christian patriarchal society. Which is a lot of people across many different economic brackets. Kinda sad thinking about it all like that when you consider Hillary would have come in and continued what Obama did for the most part. I know he had some major failures in many peoples eyes but we were by far a stronger nation and had more control over the rest of the world through leadership. Now we are only part of conversations on the world stage because they dont know how to get rid of us. Damn shame man.
