Hey, where are all of our Conservative Republicans at anyhow?

The sickest part of all of this will be the things our neighbors say when Trump's finally gone, "Oh I didn't like him that much anyways, but what could I do?"

And when they revert to their obstructionist ways on the pretext of concern over the budget as soon as a Democrat takes office, like 2016-2020 never happened.

Nope.

Trump is the Republican Party now.  Trump is a transcendent figure much in the same way that Reagan was.  After Trump is gone in 2024, the Republican Party will be completely aligned with white nationalists, they’ll have no moral compass and don’t mind a deficit (as long as it favors them).  The Republican Party as a whole is transforming itself, thanks to Trump.  There is virtually no infighting, making all Republican voters complicit in the new direction of the Republican Party.

The Democrats are doing nothing to prevent this from happening.  They aren’t even really speaking with a single voice.  Rather than defending their cohorts that claim socialism, they’re distancing themselves from them.  Hope that Bernie doesn’t ruin the election again.

Tired of pointing out hypocrisy.

If it isn't apparent by now, get up against the wall with them.

No bigger waste of time than expecting any self reflection or conviction of values among them...  except maybe arguing with them over their lack of values and inability to self reflect.

Not just 2016-2020, but every single Republican government dating back to Eisenhower. The GOP has used government as a highly effective tool in favor of "the elites" while convincing the common citizenry that government can't and shouldn't do anything for them. Post-Eisenhower GOP is a master class in duplicitous governance.

The perfect example of this right now besides Trump's fake populism is Josh Hawley, a Yale grad who seems to be running a perfect "I'm with the people and against coastal elites" con, while governing in the exact opposite manner.

Every day it's a new **** show.

Meanwhile, we're all chasing down his lies and obstructions and he's off destroying another government agency.

Trump commits enough grievances in one week that would have sunk any other Presidency, but because he has McConnell and a GOP Senate he gets to do exactly what he wants because he owns the guard dog. He's the worst of everything we've imagined about politics and his supporters use that to employ their self justifying false equivalencies. The saddest part is all of those people screaming "Barabbas Barabbas" erm....I mean "Send her back" will be the same ones folding their pious hands before Pence if he were ever to take over.

@Springfield said it, "There is virtually no infighting" because they've cast our all of the heretics in their Rightwing ideological purge, those who are left are an active part in the destruction. Many voters have said they left the Republican party because of Trump, and yet will be there as his loyal lapdogs to pull the lever for Trump when the time comes. Which means that their flight from the GOP is symbolic if it is anything at all.

Bernie himself probably won't be much of a factor, unless he rebels and goes third party. Lizzie or Kamala is the Democratic nominee. What the Bernie Bros do when Bernie is rejected again; remains to be seen.

Demographics would suggest that time is not on the GOP's side.  A significant proportion of its voters are seniors who will be dying off. The GOP will be relegated to a regional party covering the Bible Belt and parts of the Midwest, but will become less and less a relevant part of the national population.

it's just sad.  Tragically sad.  That is Trump, all the time... divisive, insulting, lying. All the time.  And this is the President of the United States?  God help us.

God help us indeed. I pray we never reach the day when we can say "I told you so" to his supporters.

It doesn't seem that way to me. I see him building momentum every day. The young are buying in because they don't know history.

A new idiot is born every day and now people aren’t bound by that pesky truth and honesty like they used to be. No way they are slowing down just yet.

I watched those clips and it simply amazes me that a President of the United States would say such things openly, and more so to an audience that is made of of teenagers.

It's like Hitler hyping up his Nazi Youth.

The lies and the vileness that flows out of his mouth with such ease, and no where in that crowd does anyone say, "Wait, this isn't who we are."

Nope, instead, it's "President for life".

This garbage has been festering in our nation for a long time, and Trump is the putrid puss filled boil that needs to be lanced.

I keep pointing out, we're talking about someone who, as a candidate, when asked what he planned to do about the national debt, stated that he would look to see if maybe the people we owed money to would take partial payment.

(And who is, reportedly, constantly demanding that his staff come up with some way that he can decrease the value of the dollar.)

Makes tweeting Kim Jong Un about how big his button is look almost not scary in comparison.

I agree with @Chachie, I think Trump is building momentum among younger, less educated whites.

Hes setting up a race based on racial lines.

Which is why their current strategy for elections is to suppress as much of the non-white vote as they can.  Getting those laws passed now so they can be applied for years to come.  The will of the people is not their goal. Hasn't been for awhile.

There just aren't that many younger, less educated whites.  Relatively speaking, of course.

Only 1/3 of people ages 18-38 approve of Trump according to the latest polls.  And that's in a poll where Trump is pretty close to his all-time high overall.

But isn’t he at like 98% among Republicans?

And yes I realize that has not much to do with young dumb whites, but it says to me that he’s appealing to something on the right.
