The white people you are talking about do not want to live in a diverse and inclusive environment. You can wish this, but those white people are not remotely interested. Even if it means depressed wages, no healthcare, and plain and boring restaurants.

We've talked about this before, there's always going to be racism, consciously or subconsciously.  One day this country will have the conversation about certain white people in this country not wanting to be a minority group because of human history of dealing with minority groups, maybe a little early for that.  This was supposed to be the country to get past that and we're still having trouble with it.

I hate Trump.

That's no secret revealed.

The thing that Inhate most about him is that he has revealed things in my family, friends, and neighbors that are disgusting, anti-American, racist, authoritarian, or otherwise just repulsive.

These were people I might have just disagreed with, but now I find that they desipse me, they want everything I hate.

Now, I'm left with the knowledge that people who surround me support a repulsive ideology of pseudo-Christian nationalist racist militant authoritarian sharia satanic theocracy.

No one of them is all of it, but too many are more than a few. And that makes me sad.

We'll talk about it has done to my faith another time.

Well, I hate Hillary and leading up to the 2016 election I decided I couldn't vote for her, not in a million years, so I voted for Trump.  I had 3 really close friends from when I was working that voted for Hillary, and also hated Trump.  I told them election night I had changed my mind and was going Republican vice Independent.  From that point on, and for about 5 days, all I got were disgusting text messages from them, renouncing their friendship with me, calling me every name in the book, etc.  Once a week or so went by I didn't hear from them and have not heard from them to this day.  They blocked my phone and unfriended me on FB, simply for voting for Trump.  They threw over 15 years of friendship out the window.  If that's seriously what the left has come to I feel sad for the generations to come.

What I meant by that is people might as well go to "Phase three", whatever that is, because it's simply unrealistic to expect the reasoned, non "drive by" response people seem to want (or say they do) with that many people piling on.

I'm trying, but I have to admit, the gang mentality on this particular forum is insane.

Granted, I did it to myself with some of my early comments, but holy hell, it's pretty much come down to me siding with the right/Republican/Trump and most of you all siding with the left/Democrat/?  I've told you all I don't agree with everything Trump has done or is doing, but he's still my POTUS.  I've given examples of things I don't like.

I don't know what phase three is, I mean, I can imagine what it is as you all have said you've driven off all of the "pro-Trump" folks before me.  I've told you before I'm not going anywhere.  I can make my points however I want as long as I don't rage, use caps, and follow the forum guidelines (which I've read by the way).

Not exactly sure how your post became multitudes of posts.

Congress is an equal branch of government. Trump is usurping power here because he felt like it.

DHS is run by a Trump appointee. Defense is run by a Trump appointee. Trump is a pathological liar. If your bar is that members of the president's administration will go along with a blatant power grab enjoy what is coming when a Democrat is president.

And your take on the Mueller investigation is laughable.

Add: The take on the Mueller investigation I speak of: "TheMueller investigation has proven one thing, Trump is innocent of what the sham investigation has found.   The investigation can go on forever as far as I'm concerned, well at least until 2024 and the next POTUS comes in."

The admins on here told me to respond via "multi-quote" so that's why you see the wall of responses.

So sad how you can have so much hate for one man.  He's your POTUS, so maybe show just a little bit of respect.  If you're not from the US, then do what you want.

Respect isn't given, it's earned.

Right? If people would just listen to Trump they’d know this. They’d also know that Mexico is paying for it, and that Russia didn’t interfere in the election, and that Obama was born in Kenya, and that Ted Cruz’s dad killed JFK, and that Trump’s favorite book is the Bible, and that he didn’t bareback that pornstar, and that he was illegally wiretapped even though he wasn’t, and that coal is “clean” and “beautiful”, and that he is going to have Hillary investigated by a special prosecutor, and they’d know who the good guys are (Manafort, MBS, Putin, Kim Jong Un) and who are the bad guys (Obama, Mueller, McCain, the FBI, brown people). You know... maybe you ought to wonder what else they’re lying to you about.

I mean, he lies... like, a lot. Seriously, how long have you wanted a wall? How long has anyone wanted a wall? If you’re being honest with yourself, the answer is “ever since Trump told me to.” We know how Trump got the idea for a wall (it wasn’t by talking to border security experts). This was never part of the conversation until Trump and in fact, would have been seen as a complete joke and the reason why is because it’s a stupid idea that isn’t going to accomplish what you’re being told it’s going to accomplish.

The wall was never fully funded during Obama's 8 years in office and during those 8 years we still had illegals getting into our country.

Trump even said on Friday that he didn't have to do it this way, that he could take the $1.8B and continue to request additional funds over the years.

He realized there wasn't time for that with all the Democratic opposition (the wall isn't moral, seriously) and that the border needed to be protected once and for all.

You all think Obama didn't lie, that Bush didn't lie.  They all lie.  You have to pick and chose what you believe in and hope they somehow get it right.  So far Trump has gotten it right, to me at least.

There have been so many deaths of US citizens at the hands of illegal aliens coming across the border, it's about time that was addressed.  We finally have a POTUS willing to take the heat for it.  Go tell the Angel Mom's and Dad's, sister's and brother's that we don't need a wall.  He shouldn't have to take the heat though, that's the main point.

All of the illegals in the country now, plus all the ones that are still coming in, serve as a Democratic vote in 2020, something the Pelosi's and Schumer's want so desperately.

You can say that but they were.  Some of my other friends told me the same thing, even some of their relatives broke off communication with them, over something so petty as an election.

Relationship is only as strong as what is capable of ending it.  One of my closest friends went to his inaguration, agreed he'd be in power at best for less time then the two of us had none each other, it has not been without its roadbumps.

What? You're telling me you wouldn't want to be good friends with an @Force1958 type? Seems like such an open minded and reasonable fellow.

Personally I'd rather have a full frontal lobotomy. Would be more thought provoking I'd thinks.

America is never interested in that. If it was, there would be apologies and real restitution for slavery, Jim Crow, Redlining/Housing Discrimination, internment camps, mistreatment of Chinese railroad workers, the genocide of indigenous people, etc.

America is not interested.

So you think the only POTUS in US history to lie has been Trump?

Did you all forget that during the Obama presidency he announced there was a crisis at the border?  During his tenure he did fund for "fencing" to be erected along some portions of the border, but of course that didn't work.  Did this not happen?  Was Obama lying about the border threat in 2014?

How many of you think putting up a wall is immoral?  How about putting up a fence?

If your dumb fb friends represent the left in this country, then all the dumbasses, racists, and dip**** MAGAs running around represent the right.

Which is part of the reason why you come across as you do around here.

You can't have a policy without acknowledging and understanding what you are addressing with policy.

When you take responsibility for something, you then have to do something to compensate that. America has never been interested in that.

Which is why I question his use of the term, "close friends" for 15+ years.  Fifteen plus years of friendship is a long time to throw away, especially if you're close friends, over whom one voted for in an election (just my opinion).  My best friend is a die-hard republican (we have been friends for 35 years), he didn't vote for Trump in the primaries, but did so in the general election due to him despising Hillary.

If truth be told, I'm pretty sure he votes a straight party ticket, 100% of the time anyway.  My late grandmother was like that, straight republican voter, all else be damned.  There are people like that on both sides (left and right).  My point being, him voting for Trump and me voting for Hillary has had zero impact on our friendship.  Because we are close enough (basically family) to look past each others politics.

Its waste of time and resources. Its also government overreach. A true Conservative would understand that.

I agree that simply voting for a president shouldn't negatively affect a friendship.  It did for these 3.  It's just sad and petty in the end.  I've tried to reach out to them since election day 2016, but have gotten no reply.

There is a TV show on it's 17th season about real murders in the USA where 99.9% of the cases are convicted LEGAL US citizens and we have people truly believing that illegals murder so many people in the US.

Brainwashed bamas who couldn't tell you what a fact is if it hit them in the damn head.

I'll agree with that, been hoping for reconciliation, but it goes both ways.  Same time, we've come a long way and gotten futher then a lot of other countries in regards to different cultures co-existing.  You don't have Sunni and Shia blowing each other up over here, we've gotten considerably better from our borderline genocidal ways while others refuse to lose.

We passed Voting Rights Act despite today feeling it was too early to say we didn't need it anymore.  We can't make thoughts illegal.

So we are comparing ourselves with the worst? We are supposed to be better, not rest on what we have done and laugh at the worst.

Maybe you are overthinking just how close the friendships are.  Were these people that you hung out with all the time, on weekends, at bars, would vacation with?  Do things with them and their families (if you are married and have kids or both), etc.?  Rely on them when **** got bad, confide in them and vice versa?

Or just long standing co-workers and work friends that would go out to lunch from time to time, maybe hit up the bar after work for some beers?  Because, if they were that close, I just don't see them completely ending a friendship that long over that.  To the point of blocking your phone number and never responding?
