Frankly, I refuse to believe anybody was out here when Tiger's body was falling apart and he was getting surgeries left and right, getting arrested, and missing cuts, pulling out, or not playing at all that predicted he was gonna come back and start reeling off majors. If there were, those people were silent. Dont wanna hear them now. Cuz now there's gonna be folks coming out of the woodwork with "I always knew he'd come back." He beat the odds and resurrected his career, but he WAS washed at the time. There's no argument against that.

I never thought he'd start reeling off majors, but I thought he'd be able to reach down and give one more vintage performance before it was all over for him. Dude wanted it too bad. Kept trying everything to come back and it's no secret that he wants Jack's record.

That (his believing he was done) was after his last back surgery. Unless I'm mistaken, that thread started with the divorce/porn stars/car crash. The two aren't the same. So yes, let them eat crow. 1 hour ago, justice98 said: Frankly, I refuse to believe anybody was out here when Tiger's body was falling apart and he was getting surgeries left and right, getting arrested, and missing cuts, pulling out, or not playing at all that predicted he was gonna come back and start reeling off majors. It was perfectly reasonable to quit on him. It wasnt a short period of time and limited evidence to come to that conclusion. Crazy things happen in sports though. Him winning doesnt discount all the evidence supporting him never getting back here. The believers dont get credit, they were stubborn and got bailed out.

A couple of years after that "washed up" thread was created, Tiger won a combined eight tournaments in 2012-13. No majors, but any other golfer who did that would be celebrated like crazy. And got back to #1 in the world. Now, after 2013, could understand the skepticism, particularly after the DWI in 2017. But Tiger's performances last year were a good indicator that what happened today wasn't a big surprise.

Hersh
As the comeback is celebrated, was the initial decline and breakdown of his body the result of steroid use?

I don't know. Had he ever had drug problems other than painkillers and alcohol? Not sure how long the PGA has been testing but I've never heard of those problems with him. Seems like the same problems that Jordan was alleged to have. Which people claim caused him to go play baseball for a few seasons. Coincidentally, both of them are known philanderers who are both considered by many as the 🐐's. People love a conspiracy I guess? Also read that someone bet 85k at 14-1 odds on Tiger before the Master's. They won $1.19 mil. Time traveler? Amiright? In my opinion, absolutely. His doctor was busted and his path through life has followed the typical PED/steroid use. I dont think it matters but yes.
TradeTheBeal!
Frankly, it would have been out of character for Tiger to not explore what PEDs could bring to his game. Doesn’t matter to me, tho...Golf ain’t powerlifting.

Momma There Goes That Man
It was always foolish to say with absolute certainty he was washed up and would never win again. Even during his bad years he had good rounds and competed. It was just about putting it together. He was player of the year and dominated in like 2013 and was close to winning majors. That thread was way too premature. There is plenty of crow to go around. Even recently after his back surgeries he's been competitive.
superozman
Who uses what golf ball, and why? I am a Chrome soft guy currently, however, someone has been trying to turn me into a Taylormade TP5 person. Haven't tried yet... Chrome soft has seemed to be more straight on the drives, and definitely like green control. Plus the Truvis (Soccerball looking ones) are pretty neat looking.
