bulldog
the Keyshawn situation is an example of how some coaches won't put up with troublesome players that like to argue their case in the media. here in DC a far less productive player in Bruce Smith is allowed to pop off when he feels like it and then goes without sanction. I don't know if Gruden has the pulse of his team or not overall, it may be that Johnson was a special case or the tip of the iceberg where a number of guys are sick of Chucky. I have heard both stories told. BUT, what I do know is no coach worth his salt is going to let the patients run the 'asylum'. The fact somebody upstairs was protecting Smith from sanction is all but certain. And that does nothing but harm the ability of the HC to enforce any kind of discipline. Champ Bailey said after Norv was fired that the Skins in those years were more like Club Med. See, nobody really respects the laid back coach. They may LIKE not having to do the extra work in the short run, but they know deep down that a guy either IS or IS NOT getting them ready to play. Ignatius J.
When did bruce smith ever pop off to the media? He had one quote about wanting that record. But you know what, if he's on the field, I want him giving it all he's got to get that record. He got benched and wasn't happy. Keyshawn came out and said that he thought another coach was better than his coach. No redskin has done that. -DB

I totally agree with that statement but it does not apply to the current Redskin squad. We had a strict disciplinarian in Marty and when he laid the law down,he had a mutiny on his hands. This group of players needs to be weeded out. The question is : Who in the organization has the "grapefruits" to do it?? It sure isn't Dan"the players friend"Snyder and I don't think it's OBC either. Hitman56
Remember, with Norv, no lead is safe. Plus, the Phins are so desperate at WR, they picked up Gadsden for Pete's sake.
