jbooma
Depending on his checkup on the arm he might be starting this weekend. If Bmore can almost beat Miami with a no name qb I am not to scared this game even if Patrick rests and we just run the hell out of Betts
Skeletor The Invincible
It really doesn't matter who starts. Because Spurrier likes this whole... runningback by commitee thing. We'll see plenty of Canidate...... Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.

Posse81
I don't think we'll see a lot of Canidate if Betts comes back. Hopefully Rock will feel a little better by gametime. That way Trung will be #3 on the depth chart. The play when he bobbled that pitch was pretty tough to swallow.
Hitman56
All I know is that it won't matter who starts because we will be facing a Norv/Brian Griese combo that will assure us crucial turnovers. The question is: can we take advantage?
inmate running the asylum
It doesn't matter who starts because none of our RB's are 100% healthy. Canidate has not run well lately because he is nursing a high ankle sprain. Betts is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry, so how is he going to be the savior? Plus this running back by committee crap is for the birds.

[/quote From being at the game last Sunday, to me it looked like the whole side of the field was open when Trung bobbled that pitch...could've been a huge play with his speed. Betts is much better than Trung...maybe not as fast, but at least he can break some tackles. Betts and Rock is a prety good 1-2 punch.
Awesome
And Bufford why do you think we'll see a lot of Rock? It was clear to everyone who watched the Seattle game- excpect of course for Spurrier- that Rock was the team's best runner, yet we didn't see alot of Rock against Carolina. This sh*t ain't Rocket Science
bulldog
sorry folks if we are down to Hasselbeck at qb on Sunday as the starter, things are going to get ugly. the Redskins have only ONE win on the road this season and that came against the Vick-less Falcons who are having a dreadful year. Miami at 5-4 is fighting for their playoff lives and the job of the coach. they would seem to have both the greater incentive to win and the advantage of having almost every Redskins skill player on offense hobbled with some sort of injury Among the wounded: Canidate - ankle Cartwright - ankle Ramsey - foot Coles - toe Betts - arm Morton - ankle Johnson - concussion/neck This ain't pretty. Skeletor The Invincible
Personally, I still haven't seen any of this supposed "speed" of Canidate. Even when he was "healthy" he looked slow.

Throw in the Smoot injury, Champ's bum shoulder, Bauman's ankle and Bowen's concussion(s) and we've been bit pretty bad by the injkury bug this year. Course, so was New England, and look at them...
Hitnskins
The reason you didn't see more of Rock in teh early going, was because he fumbled the ball in the END ZONE on our first possession, so I guess they figured they'd give Trung a chance. skinsfanjoe
According to Spurrier in the wednesday quotes from the WP, Betts is doubtful for this weeks game. He said he still isn't healed yet and that he probably won't play.
Skins26
Betts is nowhere close to J. Lewis. We're better off if Betts just doesnt play. He's no premier back. People here need to face it, he can pull off some good runs here and there, but still goes down pretty easily sometimes and possesses no real power or speed to do it all the time. We need Kevin Jones.
mcgraw238
Not many backs are in J Lewis' class right now. But its foolish to say that were better off without Betts. Betts looks about like S. Davis did at this point in his career. Maybe we should throw him in at fullback for a few games. I'm a little leery of Kevin Jones, great talent but I'm not sure of his attitude. GSF
You're right. Betts is at least as good as Lewis.
Skeletor The Invincible
Well, either way, Betts won't even be active for this game, per Spurrier.
bulldog
Betts has some skills and we need to see what he can do in the stretch run as that will to an extent determine if we have to go after a back in the offseason.
