I'm going on record...

I'm still going to wait a bit until I see what kind of offense and defense we will be running and whether it's system based or player based, but, the coaching staff certainly appears exciting to behold. We have a number of player moves to accomplish and I am as optimistic as anyone, but, I'm only nudging my early prediction of 6-10 back to .500 until I see more shake out.

well, actually I thought this team could have gone 10-6 last year with Graham at quarterback.

and that goes to show you how weak the NFL is these days. you put together a solid but unspectacular team, and you end up in the post-season with a bye.

look at the Bears. average qb, average offensive line. average secondary. good but not great players at rb and wr.

let's face it, the Bears have 3 or 4 excellent players and the rest of the team simply overachieved.

If someone could find Mr. Wells' Time Machine, put Sonny in it and make him 25 again, bring him back for this offense of '02-- we would still win 6-8 games!

Regardless of player additions (and subtractions) this entire team is going to take time to gel after yet another coaching shake-up. If SS goes .500, he should be honored as Coach of the Year IMO! If Dano can give it a few seasons. . .it will be good, if not. . .back to the coaching merry-go-'round.

To early to tell if Vinny screws everything up by putting dumbn ideas in Snyder's head. Lets see how the draft goes and who Spurrier brings in at QB and WR, then I'll make a fearless prediction. I kind of have a hard time predicting a record liek 12-4 and the playoffs because of hopw much us Skins have been disappointed for eight years.

I agree that I don't expect to see the Skins in the SB in 2002, but I dispute the statement that this team can't be competitive for a playoff spot.

How do you explain the 2000 Saints?

New coach. New quarterback. New #1 wide receiver. 2 new players on the DL. 2 new cornerbacks.

New system on offense...........

And yet NO went 10-6 and beat the defending champion Rams for the division and in the first round of the playoffs..........

It CAN be done.

I would not put a cap on what this team can achieve until we see what happens in the offseason and then how it meshes in camp.

Areas of perceived weakness as the Saints had at WR and DT all of a sudden became areas of strength with Joe Horn and Norman Hand as value pickups in free agency.

I dont expect any brand-new head coach to top 8-8, so any higher than that would be gravy. Bottom line is just don't know what kind of a pro coach Spurrier will be. It's certainly not a given that he'll be a success in the NFL.

I agree with Shamaran. If Snyder can be patient I think we could eventually make some noise. I'd be suprised if it's this year, though anything's possible nowadays.
