Yeah, Episode 4 really moved the plot and my interest forward.

Should be clear I am talking about "The Acolyte"

  Reveal hidden contents

If we are getting a backstory into the rise of the Sith, everyone will be happy.

Finished it tonight.  Wouldn't surprise me if someone revealed that they have been seeding the Internet with anti Star Wars bots with all the negative comments as a social experiment.

It picked up at the end and I think paid off.  Maybe I am just easy like that.

If they are gonna world build around this, this provides a good base.  Like I said, this was pretty ambitious.

I must be the only person alive who didn't have an issue with "The Acolyte".  Is it wrong for me to think there was bias against the leading cast of a black women and immigrant? And unhappiness with a lesbian couple?

"The story was crap!"  "The acting was bad!"

Sir, you are watching Star Wars!

Yes it's wrong. People love Rosario Dawson playing Ahsoka.

I'm not fully convinced....

Here is my Google clicking around for a review:

And that’s before we get into the subject of what appears to be some very specific casting choices that give the impression of a ‘f*** you’ to the fan base (white males are either criminals or idiots who willing drink an assassins poison in the first two episodes) when a very large component of the fan base are white males.

Another critical article mentioned its "woke themes".

if you want to find dumb ass racist right wing takes on pretty much anything, it’s not difficult to do. That doesn’t represent anything other than the views of dumb ass racists

For the first part:

I don't give much of a **** about people's sexuality, beliefs, skin color or whatever.

Just find it weird to have everything revolves about that and people thinks it's a great idea to input those kind of stuff into movies/book/whatever just because they think they have to do it to look cool even if it doesn't serve the story in any way. But that's another subject.

Secondly:

I'm not gonna cry a river about The acolyte as it did not got me entertained as Star Wars used to. I'm not gonna dispute the crap story or acting, Star Wars used us to us. But I had a hard time caring for characters as none of them really stood out of it.

The casting definately lacked charisma from its actors.

And the whole story with it.

What you said is exactly what drove me crazy.   The story didn't revolve around them being black or the mom's being gay. It was just there.  If you don't care about it, it shouldn't bother you.

Doing stuff that you know will drive some crazy for whatever reason, then complain they are complaining, is stupid first and foremost.

For my part, as I said, I don't give a crap about it. Just giving my 2 cents about a situation. Not saying I'm siding with any side at all...
