229 billion...  that's a lot of walls.

that we need..  uh.. to stop murderers...

by the way, i have submitted a few ideas for CPAC this year..  and the 3 i think have the best chance of being shown on the big video board :

Moms whose kids were stupid enough to be killed by an American are to be known as

1. "**** Off Moms".

2. "Go The **** Away and Shut The **** Up Angels"

3. "Who Gives a **** You Attention Whore. Here Are Some God Damn Thoughts and Prayers For You And Your Dead ****ing Kid"

Man, to have Dana Loesch saying one of those would just make my day, and I am sure will give plenty of comfort to those cowards who's children have been murdered by an American with a gun.

You realize that gun owners are taxpayers too right?

So what exactly were you suggesting saying gun owners need to pay their fair share?

I'm going to assume he thinks gun owners should pay some extremely large amount of money (annual fees, taxes, etc.) based on that article.  But I really don't want to argue/debate this again (pretty sure we did that a while back, or something closely related).

I just would like to see both sides (left and right) work together to implement common sense gun laws that hopefully help prevent those horrible tragedies and mass shootings from happening.  Just start somewhere and go from there.

Six dead, 11 injured in today in a mass shooting in Aurora.

Two dead yesterday in a mass shooting in Florida.

Five dead Monday in a mass shooting in Texas.

4 injured Saturday in a mass shooting in Virginia.

39 mass shootings (multiple deaths or casualties) so far this year and we're only halfway through February.

No one gives a **** and no solutions are even being considered.

There's this...

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/08/us/politics/house-democrats-gun-control.html

...but it won't do any good.  There are too many crazies out there, too many to track, especially when people ignore them and fail to say anything to anybody about somebody acting weird.  People turn away from it and then when tragedy hits wonder why it happened.  I'm a gun owner and I agree that stricter laws need to be enacted, but it all boils down to this.  Somebody with a mind to go and commit a crime will do no matter how many laws are on the books.  No amount of laws will prevent this type of person from obtaining a weapon and committing a crime.  It's a near impossible problem to deal with.

For too long a lobby worked too hard to insure an unfettered flow of weapons into the public.. and now there as many weapons as there are people in the country.

I agree, we are too far down the hole, and the lobby and it's minions are way more interested in keeping us angry and afraid of one another. Every attempt to do anything with common sense is met with stonewalls of 'confiscations", etc,

I often feel like just living here is playing the murder lottery. Chances are today isn't your day and won't ever be your day, but you're playing anyway.

Pretty sure you meant "ensure" the flow of guns.  But you may be onto something.  Have the gun manufacturers insure the guns that flow to the public.

So are we saying positions aren't allowed to change over the course of 20 years?  Because if that is the case, I'd like to bring up some things that Dems said/voted for over the last 20 years.

I don't care enough to dig into the weeds and parse past vs current statements of his.  For arguments sake, lets act like this is a change.  So what?  It would seem as though some find this to be a kind of "gotcha" moment by comparing statements 20 years ago vs positions today.  I'd just like to know if that is going to be applied across the board.

People are allowed to grow & change their mind.

Wayne LaPierre might not have changed his position based just on these quotes

we have a gun problem in this country

we could be doing things about it while still allowing responsible gun owners to own firearms for protection, hunting, collection, etc

Wayne LaPierre is a piece of **** and an evil human being

the NRA is garbage

Who are you *ahem* referring to?

I hope it isn't me.  I despise the man and his group.  And have said so repeatedly.

The killer awoke before dawn
He put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door
And he looked inside
"Father?" "Yes, son?" "I want to kill you"

For years, gun advocates and the right have been saying that mass shootings are not about guns, but a mental health issue. Trump once again proves that their arguments are full of sal****er.

Parents fear man who shot at elementary school could be bailed out by Trump-supporting billionaire grandfather

Parents in Johnson County, Kansas fear that Dylan Ruffin, a 26-year-old man who has been accused of firing a gun at a local elementary school, will soon be out on bail thanks to his grandfather, a billionaire supporter of President Donald Trump.

Local news station KCTV 5 reports that that Ruffin, who was arrested last week after allegedly firing shots at the Highlands Elementary School in Fairway, Kansas, is the grandson of Phil Ruffin, a casino owner who has a 50 percent stake in the Trump International Las Vegas hotel.

Parents tell KCTV 5 that they are particularly concerned about Ruffin being released on bail because he lives directly across from Highlands Elementary.
