Every year it's the same story. Some guy all of a sudden becomes a great prospect in the off season when they bust a huge number on the track.

How did they play during the season and over the last 3-4 years? Do they get the job done when it counts? That's what I want to know. Then I'll take a look at how fast they can cover 40 yards in shorts.

Lots of WR were tearing it up...

"WRs put on a track meet... The receiver corps put on a tremendous display of speed this weekend on Indianapolis' reputed slow track with 40 clockings that included just under 4.35 by Tim Carter of Auburn, 4.33 by Kansas State's Aaron Lockett, 4.39 by Javon Walker of Florida State, 4.40 by Cliff Russell of Utah, and 4.42 by Andre Davis of Virginia Tech."

http://gbnreport.com/index.htm

Speed and separation are two different things. Rod Gardner is not the fastest guy but he can get separation. Art Monk had a great knack for separation. That is what will be successful in Spurrier's offense.

That said, the WR that can create separation as well as any of the others in the country is Josh Reed who is definitely NOT a speed merchant. He does possess upper body strength to get off the line, runs good patterns, and being a former RB, runs well after the catch.

If Spurrier has wood for a WR in the first round, Reed is a guy I'd love to have.
