Be shocked if he takes the job, but be ecstatic if he does.

qBe the perfect guy for these players, I think. Guys LOVE playing for him, but he demands they find the best version of themselves, and he will help them all along the way.

The only question is whether the US will pony up the funds because if they do I think it could be really helpful even if it is short term

Klopp said no to USA :(

Klopp made $50M per year guaranteed with Liverpool. Were you expecting him to take on the USA job as a volunteer?

Even if funds were unlimited who would want to work with an organization that did detailed talent evaluation and then appointed Berhalter?

Um, $50M? No. Klopp made in the neighborhood of $15M this last year at LFC. His net worth is estimated to be in the $40-$50M range.

International footy is far less strenuous on a daily basis, with far fewer matches. I would imagine it will take around $5M annual for a top manager to come stateside…but who is the big question.

I don’t think Mourinho would, and his style would not mesh well with these players, IMO. I’d prefer Pochettino personally. Maybe De Zerbi?

Ralf Rangnick? If they could pry him away from Austria.

When his name was mentioned for the German National Team they said they could not afford it as his money included guaranteed advertising revenues.

“The DFB can’t pay Jurgen Klopp at all, he earns a fixed €24m ($26m/£21m) a year, plus €26m ($28m/£22m) guaranteed advertising income — so €50m ($54m/£43m),” the German FA's Ralph-Uwe Schaffert said in an interview last December (via Focus).

The German coach has announced that he’ll depart Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, two years earlier than his current deal with the club is due to expire. It’s reported that Klopp takes home an annual salary of €18million, which places him only behind Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola.

Advertising revenue is an estimate there by the German FA director. I’m guessing it is grossly inflated by him, so he has an easy excuse to not go after Klopp right away, and keep Nagelsmann on at a reduced salary. Also, now that Klopp is no longer a manager of one of the most visible football teams in the world, that advertising income will reduce greatly.

United States women's national team boss Emma Hayes said she wanted better decision-making and execution in front of a goal against Costa Rica in the Americans' final match before departing for the 2024 Olympics.

Instead, she got a scoreless draw in which the USWNT took 26 shots and held 80% of the possession against a Ticas squad that played in an ultra-low block -- a 4-2-3-1 "Christmas tree," Hayes noted after the match -- that clogged channels and demanded a precision from the Americans that never came.

"Listen, if you play a game of percentages or law of averages, we're creating more and more high-quality chances and we're getting numbers into key areas, we're getting touches in the key areas," Hayes said after reading an Opta stat about her team's 67 touches in Costa Rica's box without scoring.

He's okay. Would be the best USMNT manager in some time but that's not saying much

It's good to see they have their sights on internationally as Klopp, Pellegrino and now Pochetinno have been linked to the position

Mauricio Pochettino is the top favorite after Pellegrino Matarazzo turned down the offer to become the next coach of the USMNT. He did well with the Spurs and PSG, but Chelsea didn't give him a chance.

Somebody earlier mentioned Poch for the job…oh wait, it was me! Same guy who predicted in January that Arne Slot would be Liverpool manager.
