Amazing that episode 1 aired and nobody is talking about it. I had to watch it. I know Califan and others will go nuts because I'm posting another negative DeSean Jackson comment but there was a scene where his OWN mom wants him to concentrate on football more. I dont see how we cant be a little concerned with some warning signs on DeSean.

What I think is more telling is that you are apparently the only one who watched it lol...

And it's not that you write negative posts about Jackson...it's that you seem to write nothing BUT negative posts about Jackson. It's also that most of your negative posts about Jackson try to turn small things into signs of the apocalypse, or contain links to laughable articles that are seen as asinine to everyone exceptf apparently you.

Guy interest me that's what I mean when i say I had to watch it. I realize i didn't have to watch it. I'll be more clear next time. Wish he wasn't on the team I root for but either way he is a interesting character. I'm surprised all the DeSean Jackson fans aren't supporting his show by watching.

I dont agree that my comments reference a redskins or desean apocalypse. Just expresses a opinion that Redskins will move on next season from him. That's far from a apocalyptic position.

If by fans you mean that we like that he's a sick deep threat and a really good football player, then we're fans. I don't think anyone here claims to be a fan of a player outside of football other than acknowledging good things about them. Personally, I have very little interest in any player's personal life off the field, or even their personality beyond football. I scroll right past about 60% of the article links in the twitter thread because they're all human interest stories about players I have a very specific one-sided relationship with...I like football, and the Washington Redskins. They play football, for the Washington Redskins. Therefore I will root for them on the field, or criticize their performance on the field, etc. Off the field only really comes into it when they're doing good things in the community, which is good, or negatively impacting the team, which is bad. Being a fan of a player has nothing to do with them as people, personally.

Exactly. I mean, I don't remember the 80's, but I agree with the sentiment. These guys are entertainers, they're athletes, they're modern gladiators. They have a very specific job and unless it effects the team negatively (due to the NFL's increasingly strict attempts at making every player a role model) I really don't care about their lives off the field, at all. Some people like to root for guys that they'd like to crack a couple beers with, some like cheering for pillars of the community who would treat their daughter well. I like cheering for guys that wear my team's colors, and I like cheering for them even more if they're actually good. The pretty simple dynamic between player and fan has been warped, IMO. These guys are just trying to earn a living, and the really good ones also have a competitive fire. We're just trying to be entertained. Somewhere along the way that was lost.

I watched..I didn't like it really..thought it was kinda boring..His Mom stays on him to concentrate on football..she preached that the whole show..He got up & walked away from her a few time(he did kiss her on the head & told her he loved before doing so tho).

I'm not a big fan of reality TV either and this isn't much different. I basically watched b/c he plays for the Skins. I doubt I will watch it again..although I thought it was funny that he's a grown man w/tons of money and some "fame" and he was agonizing over how to tell his mom that he's having a baby out of wedlock(his words). He said he loves the baby momma..so I guess he'll be getting married before long. Any way..it wasn't that good IMO..but it was only the 1st episode..if it doesn't get better it will fail.

has this gone kind of under the radar ... I'm sure it happens all the time, but for a player to coach up another player, a freaking long shot and to will him onto a 53 man roster, I mean, I would almost give Djax a bonus! that's huge.

Same. He's still going to want top dollar next year, and I don't know that it makes sense for us to pay him. Outside of an overblown ambiguous instagram post, he hasn't caused any trouble.

 

I watched a few episodes of his reality TV show. He looks like a real cool dude. His mom is ridiculous, his poor girl friend... no one deserves that

 

I stopped watching because I'm just not into reality TV, but my wife loves it. I think she just likes watching DeSean's mom yell at him.

I can't really blame him for that, I would too.  Doubt we can keep him or even should keep him at a huge contract.  His time here so far has been money well spent.  Good on and off the field.  Hope he keeps it up.

i know it's a brutal long shot ... but let's say Ross pans out, as in like, his contributions at least this year were noticeable, he played a lot, etc. etc. 

 

 Djax's work with Ross will be huge.
