@DCGoldPants
They are worse than Washington and nobody is really going Ape Poopie over that. You'd think Cowher has had over a decade to get it right. Spurrier hasn't even completed 2 seasons and he's getting ROASTED! So........ Who's in a worse long-term situation? Pittsburgh or Washington? TD_washingtonredskins
I voted that the Skins are in more long-term trouble for two reasons. 1) I think there is a better chance of Spurrier being replaced which sends a team into a tailspin. 2) I think Cowher is a good enough coach to possibly sort things out by the end of this season. @DCGoldPants
Cowher is gone. The city wants him gone like Kordell right now.....no realizing they don't have a lot of Defensive Talent.
freakofthesouth
It's important to realize that we really only pay attention to what the media is saying about the redskins. They could very well be bashing Cowher in Pittsburg, and the fans are feeling just as pissed as we are. But, I would say they 'Stillers' are worse off because their team is not getting any younger. The Skins are a very young team.
Henry
I think Cowher gets the benefit of the doubt more than Spurrier does. And he should. Also, I think the Steeler ownership situation is a little different than ours, and that could have something to do with it. But yes, the Steelers are a mess right now. jbooma
Pittsburgh has been good for so long, so what if they stumble a bit now.
KevinthePRF
And not to mention all those Super Bowls they won under Cowher, yea who cares if they stumble a bit now?
@DCGoldPants
So good for so long? They got to play in the AFC Central for the 90's. almost 8 free wins a year. I lived in Western PA in the Mid-90's. Everybody knew that they couldn't match up once they played with the big boys. Ownership there is very well respected but they had a Philly type thing going. Letting all their good talent bolt.
bubba9497
Cowlher is an "NFL" guy plus he has had winners in his 10 seasons in Pittsburg. However Pittsburg is getting older, and they lost so many players over the years it has finally caught up with them. I doubt they can quick fix it next year with FA, and the draft. It maybe time to clear house and start from scratch.
Prosperity
If they fire Cowher at the end of the season do we get him?
Griff
Do you think we could orchestrate a trade? Cowher for Spurrier & maybe the steelers can get Woeful as a bonus.
Jimbo
I'd take Cowher in a heartbeat if Spurrier goes, although I don't think he will. At least his teams make the playoffs, not to mention a Super Bowl appearance.

Sarge
The Steelers don't have an owner that knows little to nothing about football, that's why we are catching flak right now.
TD_washingtonredskins
I'm with Jimbo...he'd be a great person to have here. Although it reminds me a lot of going after Marty when Norv left...I still am all for it!
Tom [Giants fan]
It was known before the season started that the Steelers have glaring weaknesses. They have a very bad OLine and a poor pass defense. Everyone knew that if the Steelers couldn't fix these problems, they were in for a long year. To be honest, noone expected the Skins to have as big a problem as they are blocking with the offensive lineman they have. The only glaring weakness the Skins were supposed to have were on the DLine. But because of their LB's and DB's they were expected moreso than the Steelers to overcome their shortcomings. However, I think the DL problem worked in reverse and is adversely effecting the LB's and DB's. Plus, the Steelers lose a lot of guys each year and up until this point have always been competitive. It may be finally catching up to them. I'm not making excuses just giving an answer to the question.
Storm
Wasnt Cower Marty's D coordinator for a while? He will bring quite a bit of discipline with him, but will we be running a Jimmy-Ray-like offense? On the bright side maybe he ll bring Russ Grimm with him. just skins baby
I voted for us because we just don't seem to learn from our mistakes. Sure, we are a young team but how hard is it to block the man in front of you. As far as Spurrier, I really don't care whether he leaves or stays, I just want to see the team play better. I can handle the losses and I have had many over the years, but when you look like crap and lose, I just question the motivation between the players and coaches. Heavy Jumbo
Cower in DC will not work. All Snyder wants is a yes-man, and Cower is not that man. The Skins SHOULD be in a better position in the long run with our young talent, but you know how our FO has ruined things for us in the past.
