Mickalino
the bootleg.....Geez, if Danny Kanell can run it to perfection afainst the Pats, why cant Ramsey ? And why not ? Everybody else does it, and usually with success. And we could use it more than anyone. It would get Ramsey out of the poclet for a change. It fools and misdirects the defense and keeps the defenses honest, instead of that predictable 3-stop drop, when every defender is knows where Ramsey will be be 2 seconds after the ball is snapped. Part of our problem is we're too damn predictable. Geez, add some variety ! Sometimes I think you could blindfold the whole defense and they'd still sack Ramsey just as much
Ignatius J.
We did try it.... It was pathetic. Ramsey doesn't have the mobility or agility. -DB

So where is the Patrick Ramsey that took off for 24 yards against the Jets and outran Sam Cowart ?
Storm
the naked bootleg? like he doesnt get hit enough with five offensive linemen in front of him, you want him out on the flank alone? Anyway, its too complicated a play for us. Wed have nine people jumping offsides.
Dan T.
How about a rollout once in a while? It would buy Ramsey a little time, nullify some blitzes, and cut down on the blind side hits. But I don't think a rollout or sprintout exists in Spurrier's offensive scheme.
Dan T.
Drunken, Ramsey's no Vick or McNabb, but he's got plenty of athleticism to roll out or sprint out.
Boy2Der
What showed me Ramsey is good with the roll out is in the Giants game on the 2 point conversion to send it to OT Ramsey was Rolling around everywhere. The thing is it is better for him to learn to master it young now while he can than trying to do it latter on.
