AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy
I'm in Greenville, NC. My aunt refuses to head inland, so I am staying here with her. We're prepared, but I've never been through a storm like this before. Gonna be a wild few days.

Gallen5862
I live in Wilmington, NC. I have lived here over 50 years. This is the biggest Hurricane that I can remember being in the path. I am praying it does not hit here and will go out to sea.

Expecting just a stupid amount of flooding, hopefully no one gets hurt, but enough i hioe for change. I'm so angry i wanted to register in Portsmouth so i could vote for the current Norfolk mayor because he said he'd reach out for federal funding to address it. Bupkiss. SoulSkin
FWIW I just saw some Emergency Coordinator type from VB on the news up here, and she was saying just because you've been told to evacuate Zone A doesn't mean you have to pack up the car and head for Kentucky. She said that if you have somewhere in a non-evac zone you can go to, that should be fine. ETA: My in-laws are in the Kempsville area and are staying. shoo Edited September 12, 2018 by SoulSkin
Malapropismic Depository
I coulda sworn that they been saying all along that landfall would be late Wednesday night / Thursday morning. But this model is showing it 24 hours later, at Thursday night / Friday morning.

Forehead
Hoping for the best for everyone in the path. Looks like NoVa is going to get a break on this one, and we have a gas generator anyway. Hoping this isn't another Katrina or Harvey.

Skinz4Life12
Any chance my 8am flight out of bwi on friday to san diego isn't canceled?
purbeast
I think your flight to San Diego won't even be affected at all. Baltimore is going to just get some rain and you aren't even flying south. You definitely have a much better chance than my first leg Saturday morning at 8am from BWI to FLL. Of course, I know it's not foolproof. But evacuating can cause a whole lot of pitfalls in and of itself, with this storm. 1

Be prepared for a slow trip, but you'll get there eventually. The earlier in the morning you leave the better. It's not a bad drive under normal circumstances. The drive through Maryland is pretty nice. It'll be better than going on 64 for sure.
