The Rock/Indie Music Recommendations Thread

Saw Pixies live supporting Arcade Fire last year. Amazing concert. Would have loved to have seen them in their prime though.

I saw the Pixies open for U2 on the Zooropa tour. Was not a big fan of U2, especially around that time, but my friend gave me a free ticket to go and I thought, sure, I'd like to see the Pixies. Man, they really didn't like each other at the time and you could tell they didn't want to be there. It was a really lackluster disappointing show. You could feel the bitterness coming off the stage. One of those bands that I should have made the effort to see earlier on.

I love this thread. Thanks for sharing everyone.

Oddities

This band broke up and went on to form Love and Rockets

This was a Baltimore / DC band in the early 80s.. one album that wasn't bad. This was a pretty cool song.

DC legends

And the Slickees in another incarnation, the Wanktones

Are we just randomly naming bands now?

Florence and the Macine

Army Navy

Dan Fogelberg

Earth Wind & Fire

Um...Bread

The people that sang Me and You and a Dog Named Boo.

You know we don't have intelligent music conversations on this site.

That would be Lobo that did that old crusty.

Pretty much every post has a lot of videos, so not sure what it is you see?

So I don't want to (The) Proclaim(ers) that there's any agendas in this thread, but it's definitely (Run)rigged towards English and American bands and I'm seeing a disappointing lack of Scottish representation here.

Now, ah'm no' a Scot ma'sel', but I ken a wee thing or two so ah'll get oan wi' it:

The Delgados - No Danger

Belle and Sebastian - Dirty Dream Number Two

an' if ye wud like a bit o' noise:

Mogwai - Mogwai Fear Satan (yeah, I know it's a long listen and there's no video, but it's worth it)

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Just Like Honey

and finally, because hiding the fact you're Scottish in your singing voice is for losers:

The Twighlight Sad - Talking With Fireworks
