Duckus
Just so everyone is clear on the outrage Dem and GOP agree on debate rules Dem breaks rules GOP calls dem out on breaking rules Media and the left attack the GOP There is no outrage. This doesn't make me angry. I have not seen folks outraged. People are laughing - for good reason - it is sort of hilarious.

Bliz
Just so everyone is clear on the outrage Dem and GOP agree on debate rules Dem breaks rules GOP calls dem out on breaking rules Media and the left attack the GOP Who said anything about outrage? How about: Dem and GOP agree on debate rules GOP governor throws tantrum over seemingly extremely minor detail, subjecting self to ridicule GOP governor Is ridiculed. GOP cries about how unfair it is that they're being ridiculed I see no attack in anything posted in this thread. The debate moderator stated what was happening. The C-Span anchor asked him why it happened. He could have said "Because we agreed on rules and he broke them." That's not an attack.
nonniey
How do people like this get elected to anything to begin with? this is the fundamental problem as i see it. ~Bang Look at his opponents that's how. Scott screwed up big time. I think in the latest polls he had taken a small lead but this stupidity will sink him. Florida has two awful candidates running for Governor. The idea of someone like Crist winning sickens me but then Scott is not much (if at all) better.

pjfootballer
Did they really go over "fans" in the debate agreement? I seriously doubt it. It's South Florida. It's hot. I lived in WPB for 7 years. It's hot. How exactly is a "fan" an unfair advantage. I'm sure Crist would let Scott have a fan if he wanted one. He didn't ask. Heard a caller on the radio this morning saying the campaign manager for Crist should go buy a ton of those hand held fans that you put a battery in and have them say, "I'm a fan of Crist." Brilliant.

Rick Scot responds by holding his breath and announcing that he won't come out of his room. Kilmer claims media and the left are attacking GOP. They did specifically state No Fans. Crazy maybe. But they both agreed to it Agreed. Seems stupid, but the moderator absolutely did state that yes, that really was the rule.

Rule breakers always put abiders in bad positions. Well, one possible response would have been to just show up and debate the guy. Now, if your point it that it's real tough to complain about "He's got a fan and that's against the rules!" without looking petty, then I agree with you. (Although I think there were several possible responses that would have looked less petty.) I'm not sure it's possible to complain about this particular rule, without looking petty. (I think that says something about the rule.)
