TradeTheBeal!
I would drive. Leave at 7AM. Should go very smooth. Your drive home may be just a bit longer.

Cooleyfan1993
what do you drive? A rocketship? I don't drive yet, but I've been in a car going from NJ to DC a lot and it usually takes 3 hours, maybe 3 and a half. But my dad usually shaves an hour off of his driving so it might be just us. skinsfan35yrs.
My advice to you is for to sell the tickets to a Titans fan. Do not waste the time and money going to see the Skins lose. Go and do someting worthwhile and bonding with your stepdad because your return trip from the game will not be a happy one. It will only be filled with silence and Bit*hing about how the Skins lost another one.

airborneskins
Driving is definately the cheapest way. I live in SoMD and when we drive up to NYC, it usually takes us about 4.5 - 5 hrs to get there (downtown Manhattan). I dont know where in Newark that you live, but I would guestimate that it would be around a 3.5 - 4 hour drive to the stadium from somewhere near the airport (off of the NJTP). Row 1? Not too bad for your first Skins game. I sit in row 8 (sect 142) so I will be not too far from you and your step father. The lots open at 0900, but sometimes they open earlier. If you plan on tailgating, I would drive down on Saturday and visit some of the sites in DC. Have Fun and dont be afraid to stand up and SCREAM when our team is on Defense (the Players DO hear you and will sometimes acknowledge you). Mista T
Some mis-information here. Unless traffic jams are encountered, it should be 3:15 to 3:30 drive (I live 15 miles east of FedEx amd have made the drive to upper NJ many times). Be sure to check traffic.com frequently. If there is a large backup at the Delaware Turnpike, bail out at Delaware Route 1, meander to US 301, and take the Bay Bridge - US 50 to the I-495. Amtrak is far les than the $500 quoted above. Newark to New Carrollton is going for $250 r/t
Morrison J
I'm planning on doing this trip next year (I'm Irish but will be living in NJ for 4 months in 2015) Are trains really that expensive or is that just with such short notice? How cheap could you do the journey if you booked enough in advance or is there a better way (bus etc?) I can't drive so if it's that expensive I may get saving. Thanks! SonnyandSam
Plan to leave early for the stadium from your hotel. Even though attendance may be down because the Skins are down, traffic on the beltway/495 is always heavy. Many people miss the first quarter because they do not take into account traffic and the time to park. Highly suggest you arrive early and attend the Extremeskins tailgate to eat and spend time with other Redskins die hards. See the top post for info on the tailgate. Read the stadium info on Redskins.com and be aware of what you cannot bring into the stadium. You don't want to have to return bags/purses/etc to your car. Have fun and enjoy the game. Hopefully, we can win this one.
daveakl
You get two for one beer specials in that section. Some of the vendors don't know it so be forceful and demand the discount. Persistence will pay off.
NewCliche21
If driving, then DEFINITELY go down through Delaware to get there. You will encounter next to no traffic on the Beltway (as long as you're not trying to get there at like 12:30) and getting out is a breeze. Just take 896/301 off of 95, and then you cross the Bay Bridge (seriously, you get right onto the Beltway, same road), and then you're there. Moving from Columbia to Delaware made games a nightmare, or so I thought, until it literally took me less time to get from the stadium (upper 400's) to my house in Delaware than it did sitting in the parking lot/on the Beltway to get to Columbia. You're literally going against 90% of the traffic if you take the Delaware route. And no, I don't work for Delaware.
