bubba9497 Posted October 28, 2003 Share Posted October 28, 2003 For the most part I never "hated" the cowboy players (well some, Irvin, Deon, Emmitt, Tony Dorsett), it has been the attitude of the Dallas media, and many (not all) of their fans over the years. That snob superiorly mentality even when they suck. The are one of the over hyped teams every year, that gets way too much press, even when there are better teams and players being ignored. It is better than it was when I was growing up, because you have more choices available. Back then preseason games were Dallas, two or three MNF games would be Dallas, the National game on CBS was usually Dallas, even years when they weren't very good. and the excuses for losing, Boo Hoo :cry: they had to wear the Blue Jersey, thats why they lost :puke: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I do know that almost every cowboy fan in the DC area has the worst attitude. I try to talk to them honestly about how they are playing and how we are playing. All I get back is :pooh: . I don't except cowboy fans to kick my a$$ because I'm a skins fan but I do expext an honest and intelligent discussion. :doh: I guess I should not have used the words cowboys and intelligent in the same sentence:gus: I get better discussions with Giants fans any day of the week .( I hate them too but I have had better luck talking with the fans.) We try to talk football and get nothing much more than "Dallas Sux"... Every team has their bandwagoners... true fans like most of you on here and most of the Cowboy fans I know... are willing to discuss football intelligently for the most part... Lavar and Samuels last year simply stated they HATED the Cowboys which is something that we seemd to have lost prior to that. Its just about time we start winning some more of these damn games. Living in Tulsa I drive down every year to the game like I will this weekend, Im just hoping again this year for a pleasant drive back home instead of dead silence.. However, after not making the playoffs after we were beat by the Raiders in SB XVIII, he turned to the dark side and became a Dalass fan out of spite. It soooooo pissed me off. Every year he would talk trash and say how mush we as fans sucked, tht we were spoiled and had a horrible owner. Sounds familiar huh? We were not even 10 YEARS OLD!!!!! Then came Troy, Emmit and Irvin. God I hated those years. Seeing Jerrah, Jimmy Johnson and all the gloating. Taking off helmets and what not. My friends and I grew up and lo and behold this Cowboy "friend" of mine tried to steal my other buddy's woman. Haven't talked to him since. What really feuled my fire, what someone already mentioned, is how we lost that hatred of the Cowboys. I don't even really know if we had it last year. The fans sure as hell do, but I don't know about the players. The Cowboys are a souless institution. If anyone is spoiled rotten they are. I have not met a Dallass fan that I liked. Joe a Cowboys fan Posted October 28, 2003 Share Posted October 28, 2003 OK Skins fans, I can do arrogant. I think so anyway,well maybe, oh why not. Been a Boys fan since 1966. Live in Falls Church 5 miles out side of Washington DC. Never got into the Skins sux thing so much. There have been a bunch of good games. Loved watching Clint Longely come out of nowhere to beat your collective butts long ago. My second favorite win was when we won in 1989, when every other team ground us into the dirt we found a way to beat a Joe Gibbs team with a bunch of street guys and back ups. Loved all those years when we played three games in a season, winner go on in the play offs. Now for the arrogant part, you broke the streak, you have a one game streak now of your own. We want it back you better come ready to play. Hmn, not too bitter but just a tad arrogant. Yup that will do it. I hate Washington. The Gints I can't muster so much respect/antipathy for.
