In the tournament a win is a win though. With that said, they won't see next weekend if the carry that second half into Sunday. No, there were several folks who said UMd will lose in first round. Not going to point fingers as this is not a call-out, just a fun reminder that they were wrong. And yes, those who said they could possibly lose were wrong - they won. Too many folks here constantly talking this team down. As far as 'seeing next weekend', it is a total game. Can't just pick a few minutes and say "Well, if they play like that, they lose", because I could just as easily say "If they play like in these other minutes, they win the whole thing". If you post predictions as early as late January, then you will be held to those predictions. Lots of folks here who doubted this team would win the first game are flat out wrong. True fans will NEVER hope their team loses. I thought the Terps actually played just okay in the first half, SDSU just stunk, and couldn't hit a shot outside the big frosh (who is a player). Played better in second half when Jackrabbits came out firing, but Terps fired right back. Some good ball that first 10-12 minutes second half. Terps went into super passive mode, SDSU stayed hot, and, happily, Jake came to play, and Terps hung on. Just admit it and go on. Please, go find the several folks that guaranteed a first round loss. Pretty sure they don't exist. Also, I'd say biting fingernails in the final minute would indeed align with those that thought a loss was very possible. Considering they were very close to losing. Perhaps you should take a look outside of this board where nearly anyone who knows anything about college basketball agrees that this team has too much talent to struggle as often as they do. There is a reason many outside of this board had MD pegged as a first round loser and it had less to do with the the tradition of 12s knocking off 5s and more to do with how MD has played. Unfortunately, as a fan of the team, I've been spot on with my assessment of this team dating back to December. The hope was the more they played, the more they would click. But they actually got worse towards the end of the season. I'm pretty sure one thing we all have in common is the desire to see this team play to their potential and make a deep run. Not so sure that you understand the way you come across to most people. Sure we are all happy when they win. The majority MD fans I converse with in real life, on the Internet, and listen to on the radio and in the media have similar feelings and opinions to me on the this team. I guess 95 percent of the fan base is whiny and KingGibbs and btfoom are the best fans in the world. Edit: Just noticed the bar stool comment. With Terps size advantage, they need to, and should, limit second chances for the Rainbows. -Jake and Nickens continuing their solid shooting from the past few games. -Melo picking up his game.
