BRAVEONAWARPATH
Click to read the rest https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/terrapins-insider/wp/2016/05/03/joshua-kaindoh-is-huge-boost-for-terps-football-recruiting-in-two-states/ Joshua Kaindoh is huge boost for Terps football recruiting in two states Joshua Kaindoh thrust himself into a college lifestyle when he left his his family and home in Maryland for his junior year of high school. Students at IMG Academy, a sprawling boarding school and training ground for promising young athletes in Bradenton, Fla., must adjust to waking themselves around 6 a.m. on weekdays and doing their own laundry. Kaindoh joined a football team that touted players from six countries and 25 states and a program that churns out Division I prospects at an increasingly rapid rate. But his mind never wandered from his home state. Kaindoh, ranked by ESPN as the country’s second-best defensive end prospect, announced his decision to commit to play for Maryland and new Terrapins Coach DJ Durkin last Saturday. While the oral commitment is not binding, it is considered a boon for Maryland, an auspicious overlap between Durkin’s recruiting efforts in talent-rich Florida and his staff’s focus on keeping players with local ties close to home. Need a couple more experience players to be competitive.
abdcskins
Gill is a good get. I'm happy about it. I'm still bummed out about Carter leaving. So puzzling, he could've had a huge senior year and been a lottery pick. Him and Trimble (hypothetically) could've been a strong 1-2 punch. Would've been better than 5 guys all vying for points imo. Totally agree. Im guessing Carter doesnt mind playing overseas as his worst case scenario. But like you said, next year he would have been our go to guy down low. His stats would have really jumped. I was pretty surprised but with college players, I dont second guess their decisions. The terps are already reloading.
BRAVEONAWARPATH
http://maryland.247sports.com/Article/breaking-carlos-carriere-commits-to-maryland-45326185 BREAKING: Carlos Carriere Commits to Maryland A week after adding one Georgia receiver, the Terps have added another. Alpharetta (Ga.) three-star Carlos Carriere publicly announced his commitment to Maryland Saturday morning. The Terrapins have led in Carriere's recruitment for the spring, and offensive coordinator Walt Bell's trip back to Georgia to see the 6-foot-5, 170-pound wideout this week solidified his decision. With two commitments at the position -- Maryland added itsfirst, Langston Hughes (Ga.) three-star Sean Nelson, eaelier this month -- D.J. Durkin now likely has two spots remaining at the position. The Terps are now up to nine commitments in the 2017 recruiting class, and Carriere’s commitment gives them the nation’s 14th best recruiting class. Maryland is also fourth in the Big Ten in the recruiting rankings, behind Ohio State, Michigan and Iowa. Carriere is ranked as the 97th-best wideout in the nation per the 247 Composite.

Daniel MartinVerified account@DMartinCSN Here's the thing about Layman: Had clear role on talented Terps team--defend, shoot, score efficiently. Could do same in NBA. 6-9, 40" vert. Would certainly be the best thing for Jake, going to a winning team. Much easier for him to assimilate and just be a role player while he learns the pro game. @DCGoldPants
I think he's a 2nd round pick. Maybe he'll surprised me and be a late 1st rounder. But something he needed to do before last year and didn't, was add a little more muscle and be more aggressive. He could have had the size and power to be a force. Yet, there are too many examples of smaller players shoving him around.
Kosher Ham
I was excited about Layman at first...then he fell into a secondary role. He accepted the back seat instead of driving the car. That part about him makes me wonder if he will transition well. I don't see it happening.
btfoom
Men's Lax about to start. They got hosed in this tournament, though. Assuming they win, they (the #1 overall seed) will have to play either Syracuse or Albany in Providence RI. How is that even remotely right?
Kosher Ham
RI is not exactly home field advantage for either of those teams. Terps should still be able to beat either of those teams.

Yes they should, but you can see that RI is MUCH closer to either of them (now 'Cuse') than to UMD - AKA the TOP seed in the tournament.
Kosher Ham
Syracuse is about 4.5-5 hours away from Providence. What's that an hour difference ? Not like LAX fans travel well from that area. Now Albany is closer...maybe a 2 hour drive or so...however if they lose to Albany it won't be because of the proximity of Providence in relation to an advantage.
