gridironmike
Some of these are obvious and some mysterious. Mine, well obviously my name is Mike. I also happen to be a big football fan. Its kind of a play off of Iron Mike (like in Ditka, not Tyson). I use it here, at arenafan.com, areanfootball.com, cfl.ca, football.com, the Tivo boards, about anywhere I can. Southtown
I'm almost certain there was a thread on this like 6 months ago in FedEx. If I knew how to use the search function I would find it for you. Its really entertaining and had a ton of replies. Hopefully someone will hook you up with a link...it was a good read. freakofthesouth
My name came from a nickname I once heard for LaVar. Kearse was "The Freak," and Lavar was "The Freak of the North." And I am Lavar's brother.
Om
Don't know if you all caught the thread within a thread in the old link: http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=165&perpage=20&display=&pagenumber=1 I had forgotten that I did this very thing way back when in 12/01. One thing that caught my eye in scanning that thread: in 12/01, we had 580 registered members.

The Evil Genius
When I joined...it was johnny_mavrik - which was an inside joke with a college buddy - we used to make fun of porn names and this was my choice of a name - should I have been a pornstar. Took over the mantle of The Evil Genius when SOS was hired. Suprised no one chose it becuase it was available for a few months I think after he was hired. flashback
I've never explained mine before, because who gives a crap about what a Cowboy fan chooses a name, right? I chose 'flashback' on the spur of the moment about 7 years ago in a Cowboys message board on the Austin360 web page. Flashback was actually the name of a fullback counter play my HS team ran, and was about the only time I touched the ball. I liked it (the username) because it has some old school connotations, too. It has nothing to do with that time I dropped acid...for 6 years...
NASMTrainer
Skin-N-NY, hum let me see, how did I get that? It will be changinf in about 3 years though, I will be able to get out of Giant/Jet land :applause:
Guest 979man
I only joined because of this nostalgic whim I needed to satisfy (see here ) and the first thing that came to mind, nostalgically, was Ben Johnson's 9.79, or actually the guy on TV screeming - "9-7-9 !!!". Don't have a clue why. I thought'd be just one thread for me so didn't put much thought on the username, but in the short time I've been here I've found a warm home away from home  (they should have an "awwwww" smiley). Might change the name now... (maybe to Dwain Chambers' result)
Hitman56
I went to Whitman High School and wore #56 there. I always thought I should put tape over the "W" on Whitman and be Hitman 56. I guess its just a coincidence that Lavar is a hitman and wears #56.
Phantasm
Well, I'm a NASCAR fan, and my favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr., and he drives the #8 Budweiser car, so it's not hard to figure out.
Henry
Well, I'd explain the whole Henry thing again, but it's a long story and very complicated, and frankly, I just don't have the strength for it.
skinsfan44
Well, since I am a Red(skinsfan), and my favorite Skins player of all time was John Riggins, I put together skinsfan44. Also, by not picking a name that reflects a current player, the name never goes out of style, like when a player get's traded or released.
