Man Pulled Over For Speeding Had 48 Bombs In the Car

When Andrew Scott Boguslawski was pulled over for speeding in Ohio, the cop, noticing a bumper sticker that said, "If you can read this, you're in range," asked the driver if he had any weapons.

Boguslawski said that he didn't, but it turned out he did — which the officer realized when he went to give Boguslawski a ticket and spotted the handle of a handgun sticking out from between his legs.

Boguslawski, Ohio police quickly discovered, was hauling a serious arsenal — two pistols, two rifles, 48 bombs, a bulletproof vest, and other bomb making material. Prosecutors say some of the explosives were connected to a remote detonating device, also found in the car.

Investigators are unsure what he planned to do with the explosives, but said he appeared to be headed to Indiana, where he works at a training facility for Navy Seals. One prosecutor toldDispatch.com that Boguslawski mentioned to a trooper that he planned to make an explosive vest.

This is some crazy shiznit. Apparently he had floor plans and schematics of the seals training facility where he worked.

Someone found his linked in page...

Apparently he is well educated and experienced yet he was working as a groundskeeper. Crazy people come in all forms.

I also see that he served as "Public Relations Officer for the College Republicans". I have no idea what that means or how his political leanings are tied to his bomb making. But I can guess...

My initial thought was why would you speed (and get potentially pulled over) if you knew you had 48 bombs in the car.  Then I saw the picture and realized that crazy was a factor.  Good job by the cop on awareness and being observant enough to find this stuff and stop this guy.

Let's not jump to any conclusions here. Just a patriot exercising his reasonable rights.

Except for ... "Boguslawski is charged in Madison County with one count of manufacturing explosives, a second-degree felony".

"Boguslawski is a specialist in the guard who does intelligence analysis and has top-secret clearance"

... thinking that there's something broken with clearances based on this and the Navy Yard shooting.

And absolutely a great job by the police officer. Good security isn't about profiling on race or religion or politics, it's about behavior. The officer spotted something and acted, likely saving many lives.

This smells like bogus

The man is competant enough to build 48 bombs and get all these other supplies but he is not competant enough to shoot the cop when he had the chance? Surely he would have known that there was a pistol between his legs which would result on a gun being pulled on him which would result in his bombing plan being ruined so why just allow the cop to pull him over and see the gun? Why did he not shoot? Especially if he was going to where he was about to do an attack its not like he was not ready and needed more time and wanted to try to hide his plan. If you're going to do that attack surely you know you are going to die anyway so why let your plan be foiled by just allowing yourself to be pulled over? This does not make any sense at all. I'm for people not being killed and getting blown up but this just does not make any sense at all and it stinks of PR.

More likely that he is just some crazy man who could not find his way out of a paper bag, and got set up.

More likely he just enjoys explosives and firearms.....unless he is a Muslim, then it is clearly a terrorist attempt.  ;)

better to be safe and find out

Oh good, I was afraid we wouldn't see any crazy conspiracy theories crop up with this story.

I do have to confess, when we see stories about some cop who just happens to pull over a terrorist who's on his way to a massacre, I do find myself wondering if some Man In Black tipped off the cop.

It seems awfully convenient.

But then, the counter to that theory is that, if they were tipped off, he doesn't get stopped by ONE cop.

It would be more believable if it was not 48 bombs. Really he had 48 bombs in his car? 10 would be much more believable imo. Isn't it possible that this was a sting and some law enforcement officials just gave this crazy guy a bunch of duds and damaged guns and gave him the idea? IT would not be the first time it has happened. 48 bombs in one car and then just letting the police officer be like "oh I see you have a gun" and then telling the same officer before you have a lawyer that "I was going to go blow stuff up" To me it sounds like he got the idea from someone but didn't know how to do it. Didn't the FBI give a man in Wichita Kansas some stuff to go attack an airport recently and they stopped him, it was obviously a well documented sting as reported by the news. Maybe this was a undocumented one?

Honestly, a sting of a groundskeeper?  I'm not sure what you're even trying to claim.

It would be one thing to set up and frame someone in a position of authority, or a political rival, an old coworker, etc.  It's another thing to suggest that they're setting up some random guy.  (Who, by the way, has a previous charge for manufacturing explosives.)

Your position makes even less sense than the original story.

or, like a lot of people, fantasized a lot about how he could do this, even to the pont of maybe carrying out something.. and obviously a car bomb is non-confrontational. He doesn't have to look at anyone.

Maybe when it came time to fight it out face to face, he couldn't do it, or he was made before he got up the nerve.

There are a lot of angry cowards in the world.

Why set up some chump like this? for what? It doesn't lead anywhere, it gives them no out for anything.

what is the FBI's play if it's a setup? what are they setting up?

I see. It seems odd to you so it must be a set up even though you have no evidence to support your theory. Because there really are no crazy individuals who want to blow **** up or kill people, and if there are, they are simply too intelligent to get caught.  :P
