Coaching possibilities...

I think it's crazy premature to talk about canning Spurrier but hey anything is possible. Whether he leaves on his own terms or is pushed out, I have some possiblities for HC:

Hot Head Coach

1. Dick Vermeil - he is going into the final year of his contract and can simply walk, no strings attached if he chooses to at the end of this year. The only problem is that he doesn't want to GM and he probably wouldn't come here unless there was a solid GM in place. Vinny Cerrato? Um, well...

Hot Coordinator

3. Romeo Crennel - he calls the defensive plays in New England and helps put the game plans together. He's relatively young (late 40's?) and he's black so the NFL would be the first to pat us on the back. He has served under genius's like Bill Parcells and and currently under the brightest of them all - Bill Belicheck.

Hot College Coaches

2. Bob Stoops, Oklahoma - he's been courted by NFL owners before but it's possible that the Danny will have soured on "hot" college prospects after SS. Snyder likes to go where he's never been before...

3. Kirk Ferentz, Iowa - a long shot and a lower profile college guy but has NFL experience. Considered an Oline wizard and he last served on Belicheck's staff in Cleveland I believe. At least we know for sure that the Oline would be in order.

When our fans are ready to dump the Coach after a couple of bad games, we will never GET OUT of the first year if we don't overreact to any bad stretch.

It seems like we have about 50 coaches on here, ones that are better than a Heisman trophy and National Championship winning coach who has spent his life learning and teaching the game.

They know it all, let's hire them!! I'm sure the people who just learned how to use a message board a year ago are capable of running a pro franchise.

Just ask any of them...

Screw it, let's do something totally original. Let's get someone from another sport totally to coach the team. I have an idea on someone, he's in the auto racing industry. Let's see what you think.

I think Spurrier will leave at the conclusion of the season if the team hasn't shown significant improvement.

My gut tells me that Snyder and Spurrier will talk about this possibility over the course of the next two weeks.

Just for the sake of this thread, let's say Spurrier is not back here next year.

1) I do NOT want another college coach. Need I elaborate?

2) We will have a B!TCH of a time trying to convince ANYONE to come coach this team. Vermeil picked the Chiefs over us. Butch Davis picked the Browns over us. No one wants to coach under Snyder, and Spurrier departing will only exacerbate that fact. We may as well start scouring the high school ranks now for an up-and-coming coach.

OK folks...

Say he does leave, that's bad enough for consistancy sake.

Then what?? We have to reload a whole different bunch of players to fit the next guys system. Another 3-4 year process.

Come on, enough with this revolving door. Give the guy a little time. We're all frustrated and sick of losing, but lets see how this pans out.
