endzone_dave
2010 - Trent - good pick. Riley - meh. Nothing else. 2011 - Kerrigan - good pick. Helu - good pick but just a back-up. Jenkins and Hankerson are not impact players. 2012 - RG3 - very expensive, TBD on him. Morris - great pick,. Kirk - good backup. 2013 - Reed - great pick, others have some potential. That just doesn't seem like enough good picks to make your team good. I think we're starting to feel the pain of poor drafting.
Skinzfever2010
If RG3 and friends didn't go in that winning streak last season lol..
kwitt
I don't agree. I think Shanny has been a pleasant surprise as a GM but a big disappointment as a head coach.
planter
One decent defensive pick over several years. And even he is fading down the srretch. God, the embarrassment. Change our name and maybe folks won't recognize us?
Riggo-toni
Shanahan's record on this is pretty clear from his time in Denver. He is well above average at finding good offensive players in the draft (Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, Terell Davis, Portis), but poor at defensive players (and even worse when it comes to def FAs). Let's not forget he didn't have many picks initially thanks to Vinnyboy. Most of his guys have been fair value for where they were picked, but we paid way too much for RG3, and AlMo was a golden steal.
skinfan2k
Besides Trent we have developed no one on the OL. Jarvis Jenkins looks like a joke right now and we haven't developed a single DL from our draft.

Riggo-toni
Shanny isn't our GM. A rose by any other name. Shanahan makes all personnel decisions, runs the draft, etc. Allen may hold the title, but he was hired because Shanny asked for him as his lackey. Allen understands PR and gives the Skins a less desperate outlook by providing a link to his father's legacy.
Rufus T Firefly
Actually, I think he's drafted pretty well. Not spectacular, but good. Every other element of team building has been an abject failure, though.

Not every player has to be a star to be a good draft pick. Also it's too early to proclaim Hankerson and Jenkins are not impact players.
Duckus
Shanny isn't our GM. Correct, he is not the "GM" but he does make all personal decisions while Bruce Allen is running an alumni association.
The Robert Griffin Experience
2010: Trent. Riley SUCKS. He's a backup on about 25 teams. We could have had Bowman that draft too...Geno Atkins was in that draft too. 2011: Kerrigan. Even if you accept that trading down and passing on J.J Watt was a good call, Stephan Wisnieweski? Justin Houston? Torrey Smith? Stephen Paea? Rodney Hudson (who is a stud ZBS G)? Jurell Casey? Mason Foster? We came away with Hankerson and Jenkins who are replacement players (though I think Jenkins could be a solid NT) Lots of good players in that 2-3 range that Shanny missed. Helu is actually pretty good, he's not the animal that Almo is but he could be a 1200/600/8/4 back behind a good OL. Oh yeah, DeJon Gomes over Richard Sherman. 2012: RGIII and Morris. Massive reach on LeRib, though could he have predicted that after working his ass off to get in shape at SMU, he'd balloon right back up again? This honestly seems like an organizational failure, or a lack of followup - he looked better than Lich last year. Cousins is turning out to be a horrible pick just for the instability it's caused, and he's not gonna fetch a huge draft payoff imo. 2013: Actually a fairly strong draft - Reed and Amerson look like keepers. I still have faith in Rambo and Thomas. Jenkins could be a steal down the road. This is the first draft after A.J Smith came in.
