Terribly Outcoached (Is The Coaching Staff On The Hotseat?-Post Denver)

It is very obvious how this game was lost.

O was just terrible and the lack of adjustments were killer. Getting shut down by old man Kiffen was terrible.

Special teams- I don't need to discuss this anymore

Defense- Mostly looked good because they only had to be on the field for like 43 plays or so, thanks to the special teams blunders. Would they have made clutch plays? Not sure, as evidenced by the TD Romo sits to pee threw, where holding the Cowboys to a FG in that situation was critical to the game

Penalties left and right. Just terrible.

Really I am dissapointed how terrible the O did vs their D. Street guys dominated our O tonight

The question has to be asked now- is this staff on the hot seat

4 years in, and I know there have been outside issues (CBA and cap penalty) out of control of the FO, but this team is not where it should be in the 4th year of a program.

The completely re-built Colts are in year 2 of Pagano, and are looking like they just re-loaded from the Manning era

They should be. This is a VERY pertinent discussion.

Prepare to get jumped all over by the ubber homers SHF.

Hail.

I still like this staff for the most part, but tonight was tough. Very tough.

Year 4 in and every year this staff has been at least 3 games below .500 at one point or another.

This is just going to work when you see what other staffs do very quickly

Two weeks to prepare and you come out with 11 penalties, 2 turnovers, absolutely abysmal time management, and general confusion in every ****ing phase of the game?

I'm sorry. I know the salary cap penalty really hurt us and RG3 is still trying to get right, but the way the team is playing right now is a huge indictment of the coaching staff.

Clock management from a HoF headed, 2 time SB winning HC is beyond pop warner. Discipline is disgraceful. On AND off the field. (Penalty's/ # of guys caught for PED infractions.). Over 400 yards of offense, and a whopping 16 points to show for it. And staring a 1-6 record in the face that could well of been 0-7 if Pryor had been healthy.

And that's not even scratching the surface of the Shanahan discussion alone.

Hail.

What concerns me the most is how undisciplined the team has played all season.  I did not hear the final total in Penalties but I thought Al Michaels said the skins had 12 penalties which is horrible coming off a bye week.  The clock management at the end of the first half was very  poor.  Just a sad coaching effort tonight.

What you said.

And it isn't all on the QB. Yes that injury was tough and him coming back has not been smooth at all.

But the whole operation stinks right now

I'd clean house in the off-season. Four years of Shanahan and we'll end up with sub .500 seasons in three of them. Sorry it doesn't take five years to rebuild in today's NFL.

We have a talent issue but we also have a coaching issue. Look at the clock management at the end of the 1st half, or all the penalties,or many players' failure to develop, etc. etc.

I am not sure if I feel comfortable giving Shanny alot of money in this offseason to get his type of players.  Because if he fails, the next coach is stuck with his players and limited funds to get his players.   This scheme is not easily repeatable and the next coach who comes in will move away from zone stretch

I think with Special Teams it definitely should be.

With the rest of the staff I wouldn't say yes quite yet. They drive the ball down the field several times and if they turned those field goals into touchdowns we wouldn't be having this discussion.

That said, some of the offensive play calls had me baffled. Clock management at the end of the first half was poor.

The defense actually played pretty well, really only giving up 1 touchdown. Two were due to special teams and one because of the Griffin fumble.

I wouldn't put them on the hot seat other thand ST yet. I would like some better finish though, definitely.

FIRE THEM ALL!!!!

I'm raising the banner.  The Mike Shanahan Experience is a dud.  He's far worse than Joe Gibbs 2.0 (we at least saw the playoffs a couple times), he's worse than Jim Zorn.  He's seriously in Spurrier/Petitbone/McPeek territory.

I wish we could really find a young innovative coach.  I'd even be for bringing Gibbs back for a third round over this.  If he'd stayed, I strongly believe we'd be contenders today.

Hey Danny?  I think you need to go all Bad-Danny on him, and fire him.  I don't want this current crew making the decisions for free agency.

Yep, the only winning season was a result of RG3 balling out of his mind in a seven game stretch that ended up putting a huge damper on his development as a QB.

Haslett gets a pass for not fielding the worst unit for once, but he still needs to be gone after this season. Mike Shanahan definitely has to be on the hot seat. I can count on one hand the positive contributions he has made in his time here: RG3 Trade, AlMo, Garcon, Kerrigan, Cofield. I think the game has passed him by. We've seen a progressively worse defense each year, a progressively worse special teams, lack of discipline, lack of fundamentals, horrible game-planning, horrible adjustments, bad personnel decisions, bad financial decisions, and a seemingly complete reluctance to admit when he's made mistakes(Jim Haslett.)

The problem is if you fire Shanny...whose the interim? His idiot son with his questionable playcalling? Haslett (HAH!)? Snyder just needs to let the team finish it out. Unless they make the playoffs (paloffs? You kiddin me!), I see no reason to keep any of them around. Don't need them to poison RG III's career anymore. Or make questionable draft picks (Jenkins, Lebrieus [w/e that pos's name is], Rambo, Chris T. etc..)

Can't wait to hear the company men excuses though.

Shanahan should be canned simply for this 3-4 disaster. Took a decent NFL 4-3 defense, ripped it apart, spent money and draft picks to build a 3-4 and this is the **** that we get. It's a complete disaster.

The defense? Youre mad about the defense?

24 points, and half of that was gift wrapped via special teams.

Ok.

it is becoming increasingly difficult to defend that decision.  The results simply have not been there.

I am with you. Special Teams yes the others I withhold my judgment. Our season has been a disaster because the QB situation. Once RG3 is playing like he was last year this offense works. We arent there yet but the other areas I am not ready to throw in the towel yet

Here is part of it.

This is a very good job to come into for a new coach.

You have a franchise QB who will be on the upswing still. You have talent on the D that could quickly switch to a 4-3 if you chose to go that route.

You will have cash in the offseason to spend money.

Danny has a big decision ahead of him. This right now doesn't look good
