REALRICK
Despite the talent, despite the talk about realizing past mistakes, despite knowing that they false start every week and vow not to do it again, despite a good young QB, despite good passing statistics............... The Skins just can't run the football unless they can throw it....and teams now know this. And therefore, since the Skins can't throw since they get blitzed all the time...they can't run it either. A vicious circle. Until this team can prove to me with several games in a row that they can pass block....run block...that Ramsey will not fumble or get intercepted, and until the Skins defense stops blowing plays....I must pick the other team, whoever it will be. The Skins can't score or move the ball consistently until they learn to stop the penalties, stop the errant throws, stop the missed blocks, and until somebody can teach Patrick Ramsey to 3 step drop and throw. They just can't win and they have regressed. Spurrier has shown ZERO ability to "coach'em up!
Atlanta Skins Fan
Well, that clinches it. The leading indicators are in. Skins win.
REALRICK
Well, its a known fact that most of you homers are going to pick the Skins every single week.....wouldn't matter if we were 1-15 and the only win was a practice squad win over ourselves. I'm trying not to be a homer anymore and I am looking at things like the ODDSMAKERS do. Its very objective and you simply have to accept reality. Since the Skins cannot run the football and since Ramsey is turning the ball over pretty regularly or getting sacked in key situations....then how can anyone in their right mind possibly just pick the Skins.....unless they are homers. Come on. These Skins have talent but they are not playing as a team....and we are playing TEAMS. Thats why we are getting whipped. Sometimes you have to just face reality. Its all in the coaching and we don't have that facet down yet.

a_good_brotha
Can't run the football? That's funny because I thought our backs were averaging over 4 yards a carry.
Om
I think REALRICK will find, in relatively short order, that this board is unlike most others, in that the kind of breathless, shotgun-approach screeds of death and woe that similar posters like to offer up every hour or two, and then defensively call "just the truth" when called to the mat, don't really get them the kind of warm welcoming responses they're seeking. Let me save you some time, my new friend: We get that you think the Skins can't run, throw, block, defend the run, defend the pass, kick, cover kicks, return kicks, coach, scout, or draft ... and that Spurrier sucks. And we get that you're pissed about it.
CBMGreatOne
Hey Rick, this "Team" that we're playing this week, lost 30-3 to a "Team" that we beat in week one. Oh yeah, they suck too. I guess it comes down to who sucks less. In any case, failing the requisite quality of dialogue that that's likely to spawn, there is one thing I'd like to point out: Spurrier is FIVE and ONE against AFC opponents. It would be nice if this is what our division record was, but it is what it is. 5-1 vs. AFC, for whatever reason, he seems to own AFC teams. I'm the last one to sit here and blow sunshine up this board's collective @ss, but I think we have a solid shot of beating this very bad Bills team. At least we got killed last week by a team that wasn't winless prior to our matchup. Oh yeah they also won the Super Bowl last year... Save your "gospel" for someone else. There's always a couple of guys who like to come on boards like these and say the Skins suck, Gardner sucks, Spurrier sucks, Stephen Davis sucks (when he played for us). They seem to take some perverse pleasure in picking us to lose every week, and even greater pleasure when we do and they can say: "See I told you all along." I'm not saying we'll win this week, but while we have less to be excited about than many of us would like, you could argue that Buffalo has even less. After all, somebody has to win the game. Highway66
I see a team that is close to being good. I think they can win any week the Tampa game being the only game we were manhandled. say what you want! I know the team isnt there yaet but to say they cant win and to expect defeat every week is silly. I think the skins are better than Buffalo and I anticipate a victory if they play well a blowout win. Due to mistakes (which has to soon be corrected) it will probably be another nail biter
terpfan
u heard the man ramsey! no more fumbles or interceptions the entire rest of ur career or we are forever doomed! i look at it this way, yeah we havent really played well yet this year. we have talent but dont seem focused. ill give u that. but in that respect, the bills are no better off. they are falling apart. we have a chance to win. im not gonna start bragging about how we're gonna kill them, but im willing to be cautiosly optimistic... saying that u will pick "anyone we are playing" is giving the rest of the league WAY too much credit. at least we arent bungles fans, right? thats their line.
just skins baby
You damn right I'm a homer. I love the Redskins. I expect them to do well every week. I fully expect a win every week.
bulldog
'real teams' ?? I missed the episode where the Bills, who have stunk the joint up the past few weeks, and with more new starters on defense than the Redskins have on offense, are somehow a cohesive team after just 6 weeks...... You would have to be a Buffalo homer to make believe that this isn't going to be a tough game for BOTH sides, specifically because the squads have suffered a loss of confidence with consecutive losses

Symbol
Let's see, we can't run? I believe the term should be, we don't run enough in the first half, and when we have a lead, we run too much. The team doesn't suck, and the team can beat any team in the NFL. This is not being a homer, it's impossible for me to be a homer. I've never lived in the D.C. area. MidPennSkin
There are only 2 other games on our schedule where the opponent is worse than the Bills, namely the Bears and Saints, so we should do well this week. I'm optimistic this week because the Bills have played pretty poorly, particularly the past few games. I can't see them blowing us out, but we might do it to them. We played a great game against the Bucs last week for about 3 quarters before the wheels came off. Lots of quick passes, good mix of pass and run. The Bucs are the class of the NFL, and the Bills are mediocre. If we play like we did last week for 3 quarters, we should have a big lead on the Bills. Even if we make a lot of mistakes, we still should beat them.
Tom [Giants fan]
To be honest, I think the Skins will win this game. I don't see the Bills having much success especially with the likelihood of the Bills not having Moulds. I don't see Shaw and Reed making enough plays to put up enough points for the Bills. RDSKNfaithfull
Lmao We will not win because we cant run the ball. Funny I thought the Jets were DEAD LAST in running this year avg. like 2yards a carry. Did they not pummell the Bills? Think b4 you post man.:shot:
REALRICK
rdsknFAITHFULL.....You are right. The Jets were dead last in running average. NOW...what does that have to do with the Skins and Bills. The Redskins play the Bill not the Jets. The convaluted logic about we beat this team so that team beat them so we should be able to beat that team...doesn't work. We play Buffalo....another team. But the Skins don't play as a team. They play as a group of individuals. The name calling, and denials are fine when you respond but it doesn't counter my point. This team plays like a group of individuals trying to make ESPN highlight film. Try to counter that and you will be lying to yourself because it is the truth and everybody knows it. CBMGreatOne
Laughable response. Many people opted to counter your point with actual substance, myself included. I could dissect the idiocy of your last post, but I won't bother to waste my time. When I did so for your original, I was ignored. THAT'S the truth. bishtw
The Skins make more than their fair share of mistakes, but to say they are awful and uncapable is wrong. Two losses and your about to jump ship and give up. Let me guess your just a realist right? Fact is we're only 6 weeks into a 16 week season. There's alot of ball left to be played. Dallas only has us by 2 games. Our offence at times has been awesome both on the ground and through the air. And to a lesser degree our d-fence has shown it can be good also. There's no reason the Skins cant when our division. And if they don't oh well. To steal a line from Cubs' and Redsox's fans "There's always next year" Until then, in my homer, I mean humble opinion they are the the class of the NFC East.
