I Still Like Rg3 The Best

I admit it could be the homer in me but I think its more than that. Im speaking of all the young QB's in Luck, Tanny, RW, Kap, Cam, etc.....

Am I the only one who feels different when I watch RG3 compared to those guys? Even as he's struggled out the gate, I still see a better QB when I watch him compared to the others. Its something about his body/game/etc......

He just looks way more dynamic than those guys, including the other dynamic ones. I cant wait til this Raiders game and the rest of the year because I could see in another month that he will have surpassed those guys again and everyone will again be bragging on him the most.

I include Cousins into that group. Im a huge Cousins fan and he has alot of big time qualities on & off the field but when RG3 clicks even modestly, I just like the way he looks more than the other guys. Do you feel the same? Again, I think this maybe the best thing that happened because he's got a million game reps as a drop back QB that he probably never wouldve got if he werent hurt because we either would be running the RO more or we wouldnt be getting blown out.

Now I feel like he's close to complete all the way back physically and in terms of game speed with the new added demension of feeling more comfortable as a pure pocket passer. He's going to click sometime in this game, we wont look back, and he will look like the best QB of that crop again very soon.

Again, obviously those guys are playing better than him now but even watching him now, he still just looks better than those guys if you know what I mean. Just feels like a trupe dynamic weapon that is an inch away from being unleashed

I believe in our guy ... I have been pretty critical about what I think might be a pension to always be in the spotlight, but I like him the best also.

One thing that is encouraging is after a lot of hits and general wear and tear, 809 rushing attempts, and at age 33,  Vick can still run as well as anyone, so I think we can be optimistic about Robert keeping his legs as a weapon for years to come.

Not unlike a power pitcher that loses his fastball and because more of a finesse pitcher, I think, we'll see Robert adjust and become a pure pocket passer as he loses a step - he has that much passing ability.

Now, all that being said, I really think this weekend is a big test for him.  He needs to play well, and guide us to a win. That's what the elite do, that's what gamers do, and we need to see that!!

RG3 is a unique talent and a good natural leader. I think he has hurt his cause there a bit this off season, but it isn't anything that he can't work through.

I think we made the right trade for the right guy and I firmly believe RG is a winner.

Having said that, I said it pre draft, I said it during last year, and I will say it now--- In a perfect work I'll take Luck. I think 15 years from now we will look back and see he was the best QB in this class and will have had the most overall success.

He is also a natural leader and winner and his physical gifts are vastly underrated. He reminds me of a more athletic Peyton--- and that is scary.

nah. I think last year he was solid but highly overrated. He's better this year and is a great QB but I still dont see the "greatest QB ever" stuff that everyone was talking about when he was coming out. Id still take RG3 all day over him

To the OP. Thank you! I was critical of him the last few weeks, considering him selfish. He brought us so much joy, and belief last year than we've experienced in years. He is still young, and he will develop as a player and a person. I am not giving up. And I will be a bit more positive towards him. I think we are seeing some growing pains. HTTR!!!

If he doesn't fumble last week we score (either a FG or TD) on that drive. If Aldrick maintains possession we score. Pretty good chance things are coming together and all this pressure from the media and fans will add to our edge/swag.

I feel sorry for Oak and Dallas. We're going to kick both teams in the mouth.

oh, this stuff is all good.  only the best of the best are able to overcome this sort of adversity & through it, they rise to the cream of the crop throughout history.

i knew there would have to be pit-stops if he were ever to achieve greatness...though i didn't expect it so soon.  through this rough patch, i'm actually less concerned with how he's played & more concerned with our O-line not getting push in the run-game.  our middle D-line not penetrating or occupying blockers.  our LB's, & DB's missing tackles...& tackles with ball carriers in the grasp.  our DB's biting on every pump-fake or counter-motion.......

mostly defensively.  our ST's was a major concern for me just until last week as well.  Rocca was having trouble punting the ball in any particular direction of his own accord, & i really wish Forbath was back.

aside from all of that...we could really use a guy to make clutch catches (see: Aldrick Robinson) once in a while & help our QB out.

so yeah.....i'm least concerned about RGII, AlMo, Garcon (minus his boneheaded play), Hankerson seems to be improving, Trent, Will Montgomery, Moss, Perry Riley Jr., Kerrigan...& that's pretty much it.  everyone else needs to show me something.

Robert hasn't been half as as bad as one would think. He has actually played pretty well at times. Can you imagine if he had games like the ones Kaepernick and Eli have had lately? FORGET ABOUT IT. The Media scrutiny would be 100x worse than it is now. The only reason RG III is getting destroyed is because we are 0-3. If the Skins were 3-0 but RG III had played mediocre to poorly, you really think people would be talking like this?

The Difference in that game is a dropped pass. Robert probably would have had 400 yards passing as well as a win. You really think the talk would have been Robert isn't himself or would it have been Robert is back? One throw made all the difference in the eyes of the media

He's regaining form. He needs to work with a speed coach on his acceleration into his break because its slightly off. Last season he could just run by the first line of the opposing D. I don't know if its rust or the knee brace but his burst is coming after 3yds.

His timing with his WRs is getting better as well. Oak is being set up for their trap game. Dallas is going to underestimate us and we're going to be 2-3 before we square off with Denver.

Good thread, regardless of the Redskins struggles I think we should appreciate who we have at QB for a moment before we resume the criticism, which at times is so intense that you forget the positives.

I'm 25

I suffered through Tony Banks, Jeff George, Tim Hasselback, Jason Campbell, Danny Awful, Shane Matthews, Patrick Ramsey, Mark Brunell, Donovan McNabb, Rex ****ing Grossman.

I'm cool with Robert & Kirk (he'll be gone after next season but its sure nice having two)

Let's look at whose been under center from 1991-2011:

Mark Rypien, Rich Gannon, Cary Conklin, Heath Shuler, Gus Frerotte, John Friesz, Jeff Hostetler, Trent Green, Brad Johnson, Jeff George, Tony Banks, Kent Graham, Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerful, Patrick Ramsey, Rob Johnson, Tim Hasselbeck, Mark Brunell, Jason Campbell, Todd Collins, Donovan McNabb, Rex Grossman and John Beck.

That's possibly the fugliest list of QBs in the history of the NFL.

Makes the ES haters think twice about RGIII

Yeah, I would take Luck over RG3....just my opinion...we always get screwed out of awesome QB's and pay king's ransom for others....Rodgers and Luck...RG3 and Jeff George

Take Andrew based off what? His ability to slide??

I mean its your personal opinion but I do agree they we paid to much for him. I mean, I wouldn't give up that much for a single player period but its the past now.

Robert made Andrew look like a rookie last season. Hopefully our QB has learned to protect himself now.

See this is the stuff that irritates me. There has been ZERO shred of evidence to prove Luck is the better player, nothing. We damn sure didn't pay a kings ransom for "others" considering RGIII took a pretty average talented roster to an NFC East title and an playoff appearance. How you could've watched Griffins rookie season and believe we got screwed out of an awesome QB is beyond me?

I mean if its his personal opinion then hey whatever. I know I watched both play last season and its clear who the better QB was in his rookie year. Andrew is a stud and I praise him for protecting himself last season.
