Week 1: Michael Vick Vs. Robert Griffin Ill

Vick will be Vick, some exciting flashy plays, some poor judgement throws that cost them the game. RGIII's numbers won't be flashy, but the will be consistent and end in victory. Looking forward to the Eagles attempt to run Oregons offense. I foresee lots of penalties.

I've been waiting since Griffin got drafted for this game. I was talking with my dad the other day, and in all honesty, I feel Vick was about 10 years too early in grand scheme of NFL history. Atlanta Vick in todays read-option era is terrifying, its what he was born to do.

Having said that, its good to see a more mature Vick vs Griffin. He's still enough of an athlete that we are not going to just shut them down, but we have more weapons and talent on both sides of the ball. We should win, but I expect to be entertained : )

Thing is, even if Atlanta Vick were able to play today it still wouldn't change the fact that he has never been a great or accurate passer. In his 10 years in the league he has had one season where he was an above 60% passer. Obviously in today's read option he would still be a major threat but couple his historical accuracy issues with the fact that he also has never been a great decision maker, especially when pressured, and I don't think he would be as much of a danger as you're seeing. He would still be dangerous, but definitely not as dangerous as a guy like Robert who has the speed as well as an incredibly accurate arm and top notch decision making.

Keim mentions the spacing will help Vick and McCoy but the spacing will always create space for receivers to get open.

They might not have name receivers but they have 2 good TE in Celek and the rookie Ertz. And I'm curious to see that racist dude.

They must think he can play or else they would have just cut him.

Cooper was kept because of his size in the RZ. Also, the Eagles have to racist players on their team, Carry Williams is another one. He will be cut soon. Watch.

I had no idea he had been that contained in his games against us. That's kind of shocking but now that I stop to remember the games it does make sense.

I don't want that to change though so I would love to manhandle him on the line. It will throw the timing of the Kelly offense off too and make him a non factor on a lot of plays especially since I don't think their OL will hold up long against our rush.

I;m telling you Chip is going to do what he has always done best which is RUN the football. He always led the nation in rushing yards. Don't look for him to go deep pass crazy until the time to strike becomes for Jax. Look for run or pass options ans bubble screen. They are also going to use 4, yes, 4 TE sets on the field at once.

One barbarically tortures defenseless animals.

The others one of the most loved guys in his franchises history. Already. 1 season in.

To answer the OP, 10 is already doing (FAR) better than Vick.  ;) Not the answer you wanted, but the only one I'm prepared to give when it comes to that low life POS.

Enjoy the game.  :D

Hail.

Vick will have his hands full of the Redksins defense trying to knock him down and disrupt the eagles during their offensive periods, i dont see Vick and RG3 on the field at the same time......and of course RG3 will have the better record at the end, the eagles dont have Brian or Ryan :)

i don't want to get deep into the racism issue but its not a shocker to me...some people are racist (to varying degrees) and football is a slice of society

+1 hot knife through butter

I want to see the Almo zone stretch wide side, next play, opposite side, get the D running back and forth like idiots. Keep working that wide side, over and over. Do that a few times, and then get Helu in for 3rd downs.

Admittedly, I have never quite figured out how the D gets so tired, yet the OL does not. DL get rotated, OL? Never.

This former OL can tell you, it's because OL are superior in every way! :P

There are a few reasons for OL to tire less quickly:

  • DL are often double or triple teamed
  • DL go flat-out on every play trying to get penetration through the LOS
  • OL often use the defensive player's momentum to deflect them past the play (e.g. over-penetration)
  • OL blocking techniques require a mix of movements, some of which are not as strenuous as sprints
  • There are more OL on the field on most plays than DL

I also think it's just less desirable to sub OL - it seems to me that DL are more interchangeable and that some DL are situation specialists, but that OL just have to be ready to play the whole game.
