great28
Ramsey said, "I'm not going to call anybody out. . . . We just had some pressure." This is what we call being a good teammate. Ramsey didn't face "some pressure" as much as he faced what Sapp later called "floodgates wide open." Ramsey winced when he put on his suit jacket in the locker room afterward. (Excerpt from the WP) He never points the finger at his offensive line. He just sucks it up and keeps playing. On the same note it pisses me off that those same guys he keeps protecting from the media, won't step up. We really need to make sure this guy stays upright, because his potential is off the charts. Could this be the QB of the future that we have so longed for?
bulldog
yep, instead of hearing guys question the audibles and the flow of the offense, wouldn't it be nice to see somebody step up and say 'I am playing like sh** right now and have to improve'?.....as opposed to the general 'we aren't playing well right now' which can mean just about anything? Leonard Washington
ramsey is playing it cool in the media but wow is this guy hollering in pain while on the field and on the sidelines. i wonder if this guy is hoarse b/c of calling plays or yelling OW!! bulldog
this team will be hating life if Ramsey gets hurt and they see Rob Johnson calling signals for the balance of the season.
Skins26
If Rob Johnson gets in there nobody will be going to the pro bowl with the number of sacks given up for each of them.
Awesome
I'd like to see Chris Samuels own up. Don't know how, don't know why, but the guy looks absolutely lost out there. How in the world do you line up, see that Robert Royal is over Simeon Rice and then say to yourself, 'Ok, I'm not gonna help with Rice, I'm going to triple team Warren Sapp.' There has got to be some level of common sense that tells the guy to move over and block Rice when Sapp already has two guys on him. sashae
Samuels' regression is just bizarre -- the only explanation is Helton's scheme/coaching not working for him. He played like a beast 2 years ago, and the last two years has just been average at best. -s
gridironmike
We've known this all along. If we see Rob Johnson again this year, I hope it is in mop-up duty. We NEED to protect our quarterback and that is what the FA's and bookends were supposed to do PERIOD. Now I guess we need the Rock and Chamberlain to help out. RAC
Just imagine how dangerous Ramsey will be when they can finally protect him. I can only hope that happens soon because if not he won't make it through the season.
Symbol
I live in California where the word Recall is a very big word. So using this word, I think we need to "recall" Helton, then we'll work on Spurrier.
codeorama
I agree RAC, at somepoint, Ramsey will get better protection, AND he'll learn to get rid of the ball sooner.
PCS
Sigh. Okay. Before we go off on another "It's Heton's sceme ect..' direction. From the Post. S.S. "Washington Redskins Coach Steve Spurrier said he would adjust his pass-protection schemes in an attempt to reduce the number of hits received by quarterback Patrick Ramsey". It wasn't Samuels' fault. The rookie Dockery was supposed slide underneath to the outside and help Royal with Rice.
gaterskins
Ramsey will be addicted to oxycontin if he keeps getting hit like that, I can't imigine him not being in so much pain. he needs help as well as him helping himself by getting rid of the ball even if it cost him a grounding penalty. Something must be done.

Dockery did what he thought he heard from an audible call (I believe that's what SS said). It seems from that statement that complaints about the audibling is not a general one, but in that there's more info being sent in one than can be received. RRick
Yeah it is nice that PR cover's for the team, ............. BUT, I wouldn't mind him pulling a marino, and getting up off the turf one time and jacking up the slacker and telling him to get his A$$ in the Damn GAME. Guest 979man
"Washington Redskins Coach Steve Spurrier said he would adjust his pass-protection schemes in an attempt to reduce the number of hits received by quarterback Patrick Ramsey". Oh, thanks Coach. But is it that easy? You just say it, and it becomes so? So why did we, no...Why did Patrick have to wait 6 games for such an epiphany??? PCS
Maybe hoping that the pros up front, those guys who are supposed to be so damned good and all, would begin to catch on and stuff.
skinswin
Samuels regression can directly be tied to Helton and Spurrier. We need look no further.

Morning Wood
RRick, I agree with you completely. Its nice that PR is doing the PC thing and not giving the media any ammo. Yeah, he's being a team guy, taking the abuse like a man... but I wonder what would happen if he were to call these guys out in a Marinoesqe fashion. Look at him on the sidelines, he's always hovering around Spurrier. I'm not sayin thats bad, obviously he wants to get with coach and figure out what is going wrong, what is going right, what can be done differently, etc. But just once I'd like to see him get in the O-line's faces. "I'm getting effin killed out there! Pick up your damn assignments!!!"
