truskinsfan18
Before there were Panthers, the Carolinas were largely Redskins country. And now for a few nights it August, it will be again.Charlotte television station WSOC announced it will carry three Redskins preseason games thisAugust. The station will air Redskins games against the Titans on Aug. 8 and the Bills on Aug. 24 live. They’ll show the Aug. 29 game against the Buccaneers on a one-day tape delay. Panthers preseason games are on anotherstation. The only conflict with the Panthers preseason schedule is the Aug. 29 game, which explains pushing it back.Airing another team’s games in an NFL market is uncommon, but makes sense for the local station, becauseanything football will probably draw better ratings than whatever else they canair in that sloton a summer Saturday night.WSOC is an ABC affiliate, which means they don’t have access to a regular diet of football. And forRedskins fans there, it represents a rare chance to see their old team withoutSunday Ticket. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/24/charlotte-tv-station-to-air-redskins-preseason-games/

Bubble Screen
This is great and all, but the NFL already shows all preseason games on NFL Network. With that said, I'm going to have fun rubbing this in the noses of Panther fans I work with. : )
pjfootballer
Heard this yesterday morning. Was thinking of starting a thread, but I put my post in the Sam Huff retiring thread. Yes great news for us here in the Charlotte area. Was thinking I'd only get to see the Steelers game live. Sucks that the Bucs game is delayed one day. Figured there might be a conflict somewhere. Panther fans are livid. It would be like them showing Falcons preseason games in DC. But Bubble Screen, NFL network usually doesn't show them live. Mr. Sinister
I wonder how many Panthers fans hopped back over the fence after the season the Skins had? Or adopted the Skins as their "Second team"
