Guys I need recommendations on the next TV series I should start watching.

Recommended Posts

I finally finished The Punisher . I liked it, but I think all these shows ending was overall for the best. The overwhelming similarity in how they they tell their stories, and the simplistic, rugged take was starting to get a bit old.

DD is really the only one that will be truly missed

Springlesworth!  My man!  I've been trying to get folks board with Crashing for a while now, but haven't seen anyone else mention it besides you.  Great writing by Apatow & Holmes, and Pete executes it perfectly.  Crashing is currently my wife's favorite show, and top 3 for me.

Have you seen Pete Holmes' stand-up special from a few months ago?  It was freaking hilarious.

I saw about 15 minutes of it a few weeks ago. Hilarious!  I’ll catch the rest sometime.

finished Umbrella Academy. Had some potential, but the show seemed to forget about what made it fun in the first few episodes. The last 3 or 4 episodes got a little tropey, and the show suffered for it.

My wife and I watched "Abducted In Plain Sight" last night based off comments in this thread, and wow you guys were not kidding.  Pretty much every 5 minutes I was saying out loud "WHAT THE ****???" after what I had just heard from pretty much everyone, except the child was at least a child and had more of an excuse.  But even at the age of Jan, it's shocking what she thought was real.  The whole thing was just ... WTF...

And the dad in the car with B ... like WHAT THE ****ING ****???

Yeah I mean, there was just so many things you are like WTF including those ones.  Even where dude slept over and stuff.  Like who the hell allows that?

The people who are on those kinds of shows always seem to be people who live in bum **** nowhere in these little towns.

I had to avoid the spoilers since I had just started watching The Blacklist, now I'm all caught up so I can toss some ideas around.

Currently watching Blindspot on Hulu. Only 3 episodes in. I like the premises of the show though.  It is like the Blacklist but you have to guess at what you are chasing instead of given some sort of intel from Reddington.

As a fan of both shows, you guys need to go check out The Enemy Within. It's only 2 shows in & has has "Blacklist" feel/vibe to it.

Loved the Umbrella Academy but that ending of S1 pissed me off.

Reboot the timeline is an overused trope.

It's probably the final season for both "The Blacklist" & "Blindspot".  Seems like the story is done for Blindspot and will be done for Blacklist.

Reboot the timeline is an overused trope.

made worse by the fact that it was highly predictable

Since people brought this up recently

Wow, what a mistake.  All these other dumb ass shows live on and they cancel Crashing.  It's a 95% on Rotten.

Very disappointing, especislly since HBO usually gets it right.

Started Breaking Bad again.  I think it's like a fine wine, it just gets better with age.

Spoiler

My goodness, that episode where Jesse leads Hank to the RV...some of the best TV ever.  Amazing.

You get a Next Gen- "Best of Both Worlds" vibe in that 2 parter.

They've definitely upped their game this season.

There are a couple series that I re-watch before I dive into something new and I need to break that habit.

I have now run through Mad Men 3-4 times and Friday Night Lights at least that many.

On the plus side, I am caught up on GoT which I hadn't watched before this winter.
