Question: How many times have the Redskins lost the game in the week of having a players only meeting called by Jessie Armstead?

Answer: zero

Happened last year before the Colts game, we won that game.

My point is not to be a smartass but my point is just saying if you are searching this hard to find things about why we are going to lose your going to find them, and if you search that hard to find reasons why we're going to win your gonna find them too. None of this matters, all that matters is scoring more points than the opposing team.

I posted this in another thread:

The Bucs are coming off a short week + they played in a game where their defense was on the field for 70 plays. The average is usually around 55. Most of those plays (50) were passes which is even harder on a defensive line. I think this could add up to the Bucs defense coming out a bit flat Sunday.

Statistics like these are a record of the past and nothing more. They cannot on any way be used to predict the future.

This is going to be a tough game because the Bucs are a good team and we have been struggling. If we don't play well, we will probably lose. If we do play well, we have a good shot at winning. End of story.

The stats are meaningful IF you think that the bucs are just going to lie down after that loss. Does it mean we are going to be crushed? absolutely not. But it does mean that the few on board who believe that this loss will send the bucs into a tailspin, leaving us with easy pickins, are unlikely to be proven right.

and if we happened to get behind in the Bucs game...

who has come from behind in 4 of 5 games to either win or get close enough to make them start praying???

That's right. Your Washington Redskins.

I agree with DD. I think they are tired & beat up, have to travel up here on a short week, & come out flat.

I think we handle this game.

God, I hope Warren doesn't catch a pass in the end zone. Don't want to see that dance again.

:dallasuck....thought I should start warming this sign already!!!

I don't want to sound like a stupid homer, but if you break down the gamefilm, Spurrier's Offense beats Grudens/Dungy's defense ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. However it is how the personnel at every position performs. I can honestly see Coles and Gardner getting wide open on Sunday but Ramsey at the same time being on his back because he can't get any protection.

Depends. Spurrier likes 4 or 5 WR's. Teams blitz 6 or more defenders when the Skins go 5 wide. If Spurrier is smart, (I believe he is), he would rip a page from Indy. That being, 2 TE's, and Trung, or Morton out of the backfield. Line Coles and Gardner up at WR, Like Indy went with Harrison and Wayne. Royal, and Chamberlain and Trung. Still 5 WR's. But different scheme with more protection for Ramsey. It was a success for Indy. Why not try it?:2cents:

Whew! That was a good one.

The only time Spurrier is sending two TEs onto the field at once is for warmups. It's against his religion. Also, one of our *TWO* TEs will have been on the roster for six days.

Anyway, no one has ever won in the NFL using two TEs.

To be clear: Great idea, but ain't going to happen.

:)

Honestly, I think we can beat the Bucs.

I think a twelve touchdown lead is a ridiculously high goal. Better make it eleven.

Question 1: How many times have the Spurrier-coached Redskins lost two games in a row?

4

(Once, three times in a row.)

Question 2: What was the average score in the games following the first loss?

15-23

Question 3: What were the actual game scores?

10-20

9-30

17-19

21-27

20-17

Hmm...We should be alright then. Seems like we do good when the next game is at home.

We beat the Pats and the only other time a game following a loss was at home was against the Giants. A game in which we outplayed them and would have won had it not been for the 4 or 5 fumbles.

.

What about the superbowl Ravens w/ Sharpe and Coates?

JK. Their offense was mediocre at best.

Didn't we beat the bucs in preseason last year? Not that it means anything, just a thought.

Also, who thinks Chamberlain will contribute this weekend?

I do.

And Jacobs?..........who is that?

This is dumb to be scared of another team. Can the Bucs beat us? Of course. Can we beat them? Yes.

Like someone pointed out earlier this week, every game is unique in this league and no matter what fans and experts do during the week to find trends and answers, there is no way to know what will happen on Sundays/Mondays.

The talent in this league is so close that it is just stupid to ever go into a game thinking your team can't win or can't lose.
