DaRock
What in the world was Cris Collinsworth talking about. In the game he mentioned Taylor Jacobs as being a BIG disappointment for this team being our first pick. Hey Jackass...he has been hurt. Anyhow..I thought we struggled, but I just think we are getting better. Remember last year fellas? We are learning how to try and win some of these close games. We got ourselves a helluva kicker with the FG and Offsides kicks. New TE on the way. If not this year, I think next year after our FA pickups and Draft we will be dominant if we keep alot of our current players. I just hope Spurrier and his coaches learn from their mistakes and be a little harder on everyone and stop with the audibles. I loved that no huddle. Thank God McCants made up for his dropped pass at the end. I think we need some work that should HAVE been fixed by now in this current year, but I like this team alot better than any other in a long long time. prophet
yes that was a dumb statement... though i thought it was akiman that said it. This was his first game back basicly.
Saqs
I think he was talking out of his rear. The only disappointing thing about TJ is that he's been hurt. A plus for the team is that DMac has stepped up but it's not doing much for TJ as far as getting him into the game.
Funkyalligator
Also the big thing that people keep talking about is that Jacobs is our first pick....hmmmmm....people would infer that we drafted him in the first round instead of in the second round....he is not a disappointment at all... jbooma
Collingsworth is so anti-redskin it pissed me off. The only time he would talk positive about the skins is when his buddies made him  Didn't he play with spurrier??
Yomar
Collinsworth is a Gator and has a very good relationship with Spurrier so I tend to believe him when he says that the staff is disappointed in Jacobs so far, but I don't think its very serious, he is a rookie who has been out a long time with a seemingly innocuous injury, most coaches have little patience for that sort of thing, even if the pancreas is not something you want to mess around with. CBMGreatOne
I don't find Collinsworth to be anti-Redskin. If anything I'd find the opposite to be true, especially because of what he has said and written thus far this year.
Tarhog
That was a bonehead comment plain and simple. I don't think it had anything to do with Collinsworth being anti-Redskin, I don't think he did his homework and didn't realize Jacobs had been out with an injury. Theres no other explanation for making such a stupid comment.

He is very pro-Spurrier having played at Florida when Spurrier was an assistant there, but his job doesn't allow him to sit up there and cheerlead for 3 hours. I actually took his words seriously yesterday because I was sure that they had come straight from Spurrier. A rookie WR struggling isn't the end of the world though. Most of them take a while to develop.

I thought the dissappointment he was talking about was that TJ had been out to injury. It seemed like Colinsworth was pulling for the Skins a little to me and got frustrated with all of the miscues. CBMGreatOne
No, he mentioned the pancreas injury. I'm not saying that I agree with Jacobs being a disappointment, but you could say that not producing at all in preseason and then sitting out the first four games with injury constitutes a disappointment. I tend to want to cut him some slack because he is only a rookie, and clearly was going to be no better than third in the depth chart in the first place. He was a second round pick on a team with decent starters already. He doesn't have to be Anquan Boldin. While Boldin was also a second rounder, his team didn't have legitimate weapons in place to start with.
Cskin
yes....imagine talking about Jacobs being a disappointment and being a rookie.... while Gardner is a third year guy and still plays like a rookie.

bubba9497
Geez he was being critical of the Redskins and Jacobs.. Hmmmm reading the board yesterday and today, it is easy to see Redskin fans never get overly critical of our Redskins He is a Spurrier fan, and Jacobs is a Florida grad like him.... he was just frustrated. DougWilliams
i've always thought collingsworth to be rather anti spurrier; even in talking about SOS when SOS was coaching Florida. In fact, collingsworth seemed slightly more positive about SOS and the skins than I thought he'd be. I've always thought that if Collingsworth didn' t have a personal grudge against SOS, then he was overcompensating for being a Gator himself--you know, trying to keep his journalistic impartiality. In any case, I don't like him.
BG
Pretty unbiased when he's saying that an injury that was almost career threatening and could have killed him had he rushed back in is big dissapointment in a player. Flat out crap if you ask me. I dunno. Maybe it's some sort of prodding from a former Gator to step it up now that he's healthy. Jacobs seems like the type of guy that can given playing time. AvidFan
This is a little unrelated, but it has to do with another boneheaded Collinsworth comment. Did anybody else hear him say when McCants dropped that pass on the final drive "That drop was huge, it would have put the skins in field goal range!" .... we were down by 8.... SPare
I think that Collinsworth was referring to the fact that even before Jacobs went down with teh injury, the best that he was oging to be was 5th on the depth chart. Which, to be honest, is very disappointing for a second round pick. Collinsworth may have bias one way or another, but in that statement, he's right on. 'nuff said. NavyDave
Yeah listening to collinsworth he sounds pro spurrier and probably has high expectations for a fellow gator
Skins26
That entire crew is terrible. Like i'm not talking about them being anti redskin or anything, i mean they really arent a good crew! They were all over Dockery for missing his block, screaming that was his guy! THEY CANT EVEN RECOGNIZE A PLAY! That was a screen, thats what Dockery is supposed to do on that PLAY!!!!!!! That was the dumbest thing ive ever seen a crew do. Here they are screaming at a guy when he did his job. They also did several other things, like make up fake injuries in their head about Mcnabb saying, "he's limping isnt he" when he wasnt at all they just did it so they could make an excuse for him sucking. And while Pat is over on the sidelines with like bones sticking out of his body. But they are worried about Mcnabb's possible limp.

JerseyGator
I'm pretty sure Aikman made the FG comment. Maybe Lavar's hit did more damage than anyone previously thought!
inmate running the asylum
I wouldnt call Jacobs a disappointment in that he was injured. In fact Jacobs wanted to play earlier, but the doctors overruled him. He is #3 to #6 on the depth chart and will continue to go up and down like the other WR's, until they step up and establish themselves.
