codeorama
The majority of us predicted after 6 games that the SKins record would be 2-4 or 3-3. Don't forget how tough the schedule has been. Sure, It sucks to have lost 2 division games, but this season is far from over. You have a team losing the 2 games that it has lost by mistakes, not by being overmatched. It is very safe to say that the penalties can be improved upon and the O line play should improve as well. Things are not as bad as some are making them out to be. Riggo-toni
True enough. The thing is, if we can't beat Philly when their secondary and DL is depleted w/ injuries, how will we ever beat them?

Maybe their starters are over rated, the subs did a decent enough job 2. They do have the best defense vs. the run. The only thing I would have changed would be to have had Ramsey in the Shotgun sooner.
SkinsThug
I predicted 8-8 for the season, and we are pretty much on schedule for that. Every team is beatable, including the Eagles -- it just takes mistake free, intense physical football.
The Wicked Wop
I think everyone is just frustrated that the same mistakes are being committed over and over again. These players need to wake up look in the mirror and exacute.......and cut the sh!t out.

TD_washingtonredskins
Also, to add to the silver lining thread: Last year we were out of both of the Eagle games by the 2nd quarter. We didn't play particularly well yesterday and were within one score until Westbrooks TD run late in the game. Then we almost came all the way back to tie. So if we are truly looking at this as a longer-term growing of a team, we've improved a lot over last year. This is the 5th game of this nucleus playing together so we're going to have some stinkers! Atlanta Skins Fan
Originally posted by codeorama The majority of us predicted after 6 games that the SKins record would be 2-4 or 3-3. Code, this is a cop-out. Back in June, the Jets had Pennington, the Falcons had Vick, the Eagles weren't missing 3/4 of their secondary and half their DL, and the Patriots weren't missing about half their starting team. The Redskins had a *definitive and overwhelming* talent edge in those four games that didn't exist in June. They should have won *all four* games, and none of them should have been close. Looking at the talent at the time of the games, the record should be 4-1. We were never better than the Giants, so that's a loss I can accept, no matter how close we came to winning. Spurrier was never that fond of the shotgun a Florida either. I'd like to see more rollouts too. Good points, Ramsey is not as immobile as many think, roll outs would be awsome. He seems to throw well on the move too... ASF... I see where you are coming from and I agree with your points that the opposition was weakened. But I just don't think we should overvalue this team either. They have a qb who just started his 8th or 9th game, the o line has been together for only 5 games AND Dockery is a rookie, and so on... This Skins team is not a powerhouse...... Yet. I think all the pieces are in place except for D line and time is the only thing left for these guys. You can't just throw them out there and expect them to win cause they look good on paper. Last time I checked, that's why they play the games on Sunday.
gbear
We need to take a page out of the old time Bills handbook. WE need to start playing a little no huddle. I'm not saying do it every series, but if we came out and ran two series a half that way...
Fan4life
Ramsey shouldnt blame himself. He can only do so much with the talent he has around him. The other 10 guys need to step up also. It should have never come down to that last pass. I am still amazed and inspired by PR play and guts. I have faith that this kid will keep us afloat in the future. ARRRGHHHH...all this talent..and we still can seem to take teams out.
TD_washingtonredskins
gbear, I think that would have helped A LOT yesterday. what baffles me is that sonny asked spurrier about that early in the week and i guess he didnt think it would do much good. but we did most of our damage offensively at the end of the half and end of the game. also, i agree with code too...this is a YOUNG team, we are going to have to live through some mistakes. we play teams that have been together for a couple/few years. we will get there, there will be a time with ramsey/jansen/samuels/coles where our audibles are working like clockwork...give it time. big z
Well, this team will finish strong. I have no doubts about that. 10-6 is still the goal. Tampa and Buffalo will be tough, but Our Redskins really need to win the remaining division games to have a chance at the postseason. I haven't rewatched the game or anything, but I recall wanting the skins to get into fieldgoal range before the half......and I think Spurrier got greedy and it cost us the FG opportunity. Am I right on this or will someone clarify..... Just remember thinking that would bite us in the a$$...and considering we lost by 2. Obviously hindsight is 20-20. BTW, :dallasuck :dallasuck :eaglesuck :dallasuck and for good measure....:dallasuck :gaintsuck :dallasuck
codeorama
I agree with bigzak too.. I would rather struggle a little now, and finish strong. Then end is where it counts most. The thing to remember too is that we have been in a position to win or lose every game so far. That's a good thing and a bad thing. Or record could be 0-5 as easily as 5-

The Evil Genius
I dont care if the Skins lose every division game. If they win the other 10 - then they are in the playoffs. IMHO, 4 team divisions have reduced the impact of division games.
TD_washingtonredskins
TEG, they definitely have...just the simple fact that they now make up less than half your schedule is a big deal. beyond that, if the skins beat teams like atlanta, new orleans, tampa, etc. they will beat out other NFC teams for a wildcard berth if that comes up. to make the leap to a good team (this year or next) spurrier will have to learn how to beat the east teams though.
