NASMTrainer
Finally got rid of my Ford Bronco today. The wife talked me into the new Chrysler Pacifica The more I drive it the more I like it. Does that mean I lose my a$$hole status since I got rid of the SUV? After reading the post I realized I have left myself wide open. You may fire at will.

Om
Dude, my first car was a baby blue '75 Ford Pinto Wagon. Had to drive it to school everyday my senior year of HS. They all used to stand at the curb and point and then they'd laugh at me. And that was just the teachers. I still see a shrink once or twice a year dealing with residual issues. He says we're making progress. Anyway, truth is ... I kinda dig the Pacifica's looks. I'd consider driving one. I think I'd just call it something else. "Pacifica" just sounds, well ... baby blue to me.

Handles like a dream, yesterday I was on the interstate and I passed this car, I'm thinking to myself, why is that car going so slow? I look down and I'm doing 90 and I didn't even realize it. Moves and handles like a luxury car. The wife did do it all the way. Leather, DVD, GPS, got all the options except for the XM Sat radio. It has the E-Class rear end. I like it more and more each day and it doesnt cost me $50 a week to fill like the Bronco did. If this will help take the heat off, at least it's maroon

skinsfan44
I agree that a lot of people buy SUV's or 4x4 Pick ups as a status symble. But their are people out here(myself included) that use a 4x4 for what it is intended to be used for. For off road driving and when it snows. For this I am an a$$hole? I live, work and drive in the mountains. I hunt. This is the reason I have 4x4's. I use the bed of my truck for what it was intended to be used for. Hauling equipment, wood, Deer and other game, and using it to bring all my things (grill, coolers, chairs) when I tailgate at Fed-Ex. So, no I will not give up my SUV/4x4 Pick up because I use it, not to be seen in it. And yes, I went from a full size Chevy 4x4 Pick up to a Chevy S-10 4x4 Pick up because a fuel mileage. NASMTrainer
I agree that a lot of people buy SUV's or 4x4 Pick ups as a status symble I hardly consider a '95 Bronco a status symbol. As for the a$$hole comment. That was from a post a few months back where someone had put a article in the post where some guy basically called all people with SUV's and a$$hole. I was just trying to be funny (apparently I failed) I used my 4x4 for what it was intened as well.

I guess I should have worded it differantly. I know a '95 Bronco is not a "status symbol". I had a '87 Chevy 4x4 pick up. It is no way a status symbol either, all though it was a custom truck (6" lift, 35" tires, custom paint, and lots of chrome) but still an old truck. I was talking about people who buy Hummer H2's, Landrovers, Cadilaic Escalades, and Lincoin Navagaters. I look at it this way. You buy what you know will work with where you live, and your life style. Nobody should tell ANYONE what they should or shouldn't drive. Your Bronco and my old 4x4 were gas hogs. We both desided to buy something with better gas mileage. Nothing wrong with that, my friend.
