Do you all want to lose?

I'm sorry but i just had to do this.

I am tired of all this. I got home tonight and was ready to get on here to see some nice celebrationg going on. But all i see is more negative comments. I am tired of IT!

Whats wrong with some of you people on here. Do you want to lose, would that make you happier. Why do you have to be so negative all the time. Do some of you have tickets to the games and just sit there, not cheering your head off, because you are too busy overanalyzing every little play and thinking about how if something went different on that paticular play it wouldnt have worked?

WE WON! Isnt that all that matters really. Did we look terrific, not really, but we got the win. How good are we? I really dont know, we havent had a really impressive win yet, but impressive wins count the same as close wins. We are 3-1. If i didnt know better and read some of the posts on this board i would think we were 1-3. This is just crazy.

As said by Lavar Arrington, our goal is to win 3 of every 4 games this season. The first 4 games are complete and we are 3-1, mission accomplished. Our sophmore QB has looked just remarkable, we are looking real solid at RB, our WR's are looking great, the O Line gets better every week. And the defense is of course looking very good. (that long drive int he 4th we were in prevent defense)

If we havent played are best game yet, and we're still 3-1. What more can you ask for??? Besides 4-0 of course.

We need to start getting some more confidence around here guys, COME ON!

Hey not everyone is negative. You can choose to focus on the positive posts. That will help keep you from getting tired.

Some people are looking for perfection, but most everyone wants some consistency and is anxious about the schedule coming up. I'd give everyone a pass.

I can see there is something special happening with the 'Skins, but it is still growing and forming with players and coaches. When the team settles in so will most everyone here. Don't you think?

This is a work in progress and I would rather them be 3-1 working out the kinks than 1-3.

I think we are still kind of snake bit from the Norval Era and it is understandable. But the team has won 3 Games that could very well be losses (especially a few years ago  )

We're not being negative for the sake of being negative. We're being negative about things that seem fixable. Things like endless penalties by the OL. And endless hits on our young franchise QB surrendered by a pass-protection unit that was supposed to be among the NFL elite.

A lot of us cut our teeth as fans during the Gibbs years. We realize that not every season ends with a Lombardi trophy, but we did manage to watch a Redskin team that played smart football for 12 straight years -- and was anchored by the NFL's best OL during that span.

These are things we thought were core elements of successful Redskin football. We laughed at other teams with superstar players who played dumb football and couldn't protect their QB.

So we've gone from the Riggo drill to the Fun & Gun -- that's fine. Each style has its own strengths. But dumb penalties are just that -- they're just as dumb in the NFL as they would be in Junior Varsity. And watching Ramsey, the core of our franchise, take brutal hit after brutal hit makes me want to wring Helton's neck.

I'm patient about stuff we can't change. We have a budget DL that's not going to pressure the QB. That's just how our roster is assembled, with the money prioritized elsewhere. So you won't catch me asking these guys to do more than they are capable of doing.

But when you put together a star-studded OL and put the big bucks there to protect your franchise QB, you'd like that unit not to be the main reason this team keeps shooting itself in the foot. You'd like it to be corrected. Not brushed under the carpet with comments like, "Gee, Ramsey's such a brave, tough guy." He's a brave, tough guy who's bearing physical punishment inflicted by the team's inability to protect him.

That should piss you off, too. Because this wonderfully talented team is going nowhere until the problems are corrected.

I think most of us realize that this team has a ton of potential and if they'd start playing smarter, and more disciplined, could be a top 5 team RIGHT NOW. (Next year they will be a top 5 team, after our Offense gets really comfortable, and we add studs to the DLine)

You, my friend, are why I don't come in here during the week.

"The sky is falling! The sky is falling! No REALLY, I have stats I contrived from reviewing TIVO of the game!"

3-1 man. You say we aren't going anywhere until we correct our mistakes. You know where I'm going? I'm going to be a happy Redskins fan being 3-1.

Hail, non - stats contrived - I dont' want to be happy - enough is never enough for me, VICTORY.

That's a very negative post about negative people, Skins26. How come you can't be more positive about us? We're people too.

Seriously, I'm VERY happy about the win. We actually have a good chance to go to the playoffs.

However, questions have to be answered in order for us to even get past the Iggles with a win. A lot of the questions surround the defense right now. We CANNOT play soft against McNabb and co. If we play soft against them, they scorch us.

Another question? Are we going to stop creating costly penalties late in the game? Samuels needs to get his head screwed on straight. I REALLY don't know what his problem is.

We won't win the refs over. EVER. So, that, in my mind, is not a question to BE answered. We have to learn to adapt to their inconsistent and inept calls.

Other than the above, I'm a happy camper. I'm just realistic, not negative. ;)

That was a very cerebral post by ASF. He made some valid points. I'm not too sure why you're upset with him. We can't be a playoff team unless the problems ASF spoke of are corrected. If you're a true fan of the NFL, you know this. Sure, it's nice to be 3-1, but the easily-fixable problems we're having are going to sneak up and bite us in the @ss.

Why should this piss you off? It isn't your money, the team doesn't come to you with decisions. The way we play should not affect the way you live your life, if that is the case then you need to take a step back and look around you to see what is important to you. We are 3-1 #1 in the NFC East who would have expected that?? Enjoy it while it lasts.

Here are the main points to focus on:

The Redskins have played 0 complete games and are 3-1.

The Redskins cut their penalties in half from Week 3 to Week 4.

The Redskins have beaten teams that they should beat while not playing up to their potential.

I'm happy. I LOVE that we're finally winning games while we are working out problems (that didn't happen under Turner).

ASF- you hit it right on -just because we ask for some

improvements doesn't hide the fact we are Redskins

diehards. A lttle tough love goes a long way.

I was thrilled in the first half with Spurriers play calling

as he mixed in the short slants, reverses and the dump

off to Mortons. These seem to be the calls to relieve

the pressure. In the second half he seemed to go into

the prevent mode.

Even so we won . The tough part is coming up in the next

LaVar foursome-so we will see were we are.

Here's my last point...I just have a lot of stuff about this first 4 weeks to get out:

I think what should sum up where we are as a team is how we do in Philly. Personally, I feel more confident as our team prepares to play them. Now we could lose 42-0...who knows? But the point is, I feel like we have as good a shot to go into Philly and win as we have in a while. I would assume that most people feel this way and that should speak volumes.

Good point Speedwagon. Before the start of the regular season, I had the Philly game as a definite loss. Now, who knows? Do we have problems..yep. Could the season be a disaster...yep. Have the penalties been gut wrenching...yep. BUT, the games have been great to watch. The players seem excited. Ramsey apperars to be the real deal. The FO moves look validated. Most importantly, the record is 3-1. Hell, at the mid point, I thought we'd be 3-5 (even 2-6). We still could be, but I feel more confident now.

In the age of the salary cap, there will ALWAYS be problem areas in each team. We should focus upon what has improved from last season to determine the real growth (or lack there of) of the team.

I think the problem is that some fans see the potential that we have and get higher expectations for this year. It is easy to be content with 3 wins. Just dont worry about the rest of the season and if we go ahead 20-3 and then almost give the game away to mental errors...dont let any doubts creep in. I guess that way we we start loosing those games it can come as a big surprise. I am the first one to say I am very happy that we have gotten a good start, but we need to start correcting our mental mistakes or else we will just squander this great opportunity. One more thing, to all the people that keep saying we are one year away and this goes for any team. With the way free agency and injurys go these days in the NFL you cannot depend on things three, two, or even one year in the future. Sieze the day, Redskins. You have had a great start, fix the stupid errors and realize your full potential! -The 12th man.

Alright, asking for improvments is fine with me. I think we shouldnt have gone into prevent defense. I am fine with talking about what needs improvment, i think thats good. We need to stop the offsides penalties and play smarter.

HOWEVER, what i am angry about is sentences like "until we fix blah blah this team is going NOWHERE!"

I think that is a stupid comment. Has it ever occurred to you all that we are a very VERY YOUNG TEAM!?!??!! Yeah guess what, we are pretty young. I think we dont need to hear people saying that we are going nowhere. I am also tired of hearing how the only reason we've been winning is injuries, its still tough to win games injuries or not. And as the announcer said sometimes its harder to beat a team with a lot of injuries than it is when they have their starters, the wounded animal theory. The other team gets fired up and focus's more when they have a lot of injuries.

And one more thing, sometimes when Ramsey gets sacked, its not always our fault sometimes the other team has a good blitz on and overloads us, like what happened on one paticular sack yesterday, everyone picked up there guys fine, just they had one more than us which meant somebody should have been open. Another sack Ramsey had a perfect pocket set up and just nobody was open, it wasnt the O Line's fault. On the one hard hit on Ramsey by Harrison it wasnt the O Line's fault Harrison just didnt fall for the fake. I'm sorry but offensive lines need time to gel, and i thought they handled all the hardcore blitzes pretty well yesterday. I dont think there is any need to fire Helton, or jump on him for everything.

Excellent post, ross. I couldn't agree more.

Write this one down: if we brought back Joe Bugel or Jim Hanifan to coach the OL *right now* ... and if we got that special teams guy from the Jets who made Morton so hot, *right now* ... we'd be the team to beat in the NFC.

You guys think I'm negative. I think we're *that close* to being a fantastic, dominant team.

But without those changes, I can't see how this team even makes the playoffs. It could happen -- it's not unthinkable. But based on the team as it is playing right now, no shot at all.

I love this team. We're two guys away from being a Super Bowl contender, and neither of those missing guys even plays on the field.

We're healthy as all hell. Next year we could have two Joe Bugels and not have a chance because of injuries.

Seize the frickin' chance while it's staring us in the face.
